The Sustainable Energy [R]evolution is the practical solution to our energy needs. It offers a sustainable path to quit dirty, dangerous fuels by transitioning to renewable energy and energy efficiency.
Coal, Oil, and Nuclear energy monopolies get 12 times more subsidies than solar and renewable energy companies. A majority of the pollution and carbon emissions are coming from these industries, which cause diseases, deaths, and global warming.
The UN calls climate change caused by global warming the greatest threat to humanity existing today.
The largest and most destructive practices on Earth are getting the most ‘free’ money from taxpayers, while the most sustainable, green, clean and safe energy sources are getting the LEAST money from taxpayers, via subsidies. What is wrong with this picture?
Renewable energy sources are dropping, while the ‘dirty’ fuels are increasing in price. Would it not make more sense to go with clean fuels that are also decentralized and safer, much more resistant to terrorist attacks?
New investment in solar, wind and renewables is now exceeding nuclear, coal and oil. China is investing huge amounts of money in renewables. Every two hours, China is putting up a huge wind turbine.
Renewable energy sources can be installed in small villages that are not connected to the grid.
In Europe in 2009, over 50% of all new energy sources consisted of renewable energy sources. This trend is accelerating. Europe has committed to stopping all nuclear power plants in a few years.
In one lifetime, HUGE changes can and will happen. Change is the only constant. We have to make change happen. We have to demand that government serve US, not just huge corporations that represent the 1% who care only about profits. It will require that we learn about efficiency, and saving energy via simple easy to use methods.
We have to fight dirty energy and support CLEAN energy, with new laws like Europe has. Denmark has a large renewable source. Their government made this choice because the CITIZENS demanded it, and the government had no choice but to give it to them.
We are living at the tipping point. Every person is important. Every person makes a difference. We are each responsible for our actions, our decisions. We can try to move in the right direction, if not for ourselves, then for seven future generations of our children.
