Polly has submitted a second proposal to the United Nations: the Crime of Ecocide. Ecocide is a 5th Crime Against Peace, yet to be recognized alongside Genocide, Crimes Against Humanity, War Crimes and Crimes of Aggression.”
If humanity does not value human life, the Earth or each other enough to protect these, then destruction of all of these is the only outcome. We are traveling down this road to destruction of all life on the planet. We are committing genocide of not only humans, but animals, insects, plants, trees and all life on the planet. How?

There may still be time to turn things around with a Green Revolution, by passing laws against ecocide, and prosecuting those who violate this law. But even more important is the need for each individual to take actions in their own life, to make a positive difference.
Switch utility company energy providers so that you use only Zero Carbon renewable energy, such as wind, water, solar. Many states allow you to switch, with just a phone call.
Use more fair trade, local, and green products and service providers, such as driving all electric cars, hydrogen fuel cells, etc. Support the solutions, rather than the problems. Stop using things like styrofoam plates, plastic bags and nuclear power related products.
Eat organic foods, and buy only natural products not made from oil products. Avoid plastics whenever possible. Do not buy hardwood products from the Amazon rain forest.
Make your home more energy efficient. Start small and keep adding things, like CFL or even better; LED lights. Switch to more energy efficient appliances, and read labels when shopping for energy use on items such as TV, etc.
Reduce your carbon footprint and live more in harmony with Earth and her natural processes, rather than in ways that destroy her and all human life.
Go inside and explore who you are. Explore the concept of consciousness. What is this, and how does it work? Where can consciousness be found, and how can it be accessed? Hint… start meditating and getting together with others who meditate. The reason to do this, is because we must open up to our dark side, the unconscious side that controls what we do and how we do it.
Work on finding the root causes for addictions; such as shopping, gambling, drinking, drugs, etc. Everyone is addicted, it is only a choice of what we are addicted to. There are many 12 step groups to attend and work the steps with a sponsor. Even if you do not have a problem, attend an Al Anon group and explore the effects on you of those around you that are addicted.
