In the following Kevin Kamps of Beyond Nuclear, joins Thom Hartmann. California beware! A radioactive ocean current is headed toward the West Coast of the United States courtesy of the Fukushima nuclear disaster.  They discuss the implications of the Fukushima radiation release into the ocean and when this radiation in the ocean will reach California.

Since the leaks from Fukushima into the ocean have not been completely stopped and the Fukushima crisis continues, this radioactive plume of poison  will continue to pour into the Pacific Ocean the foreseeable future, since the Japanese have no plans on stopping it for at least 30 years. 


In effect, one might say that they are poisoning the whole planet with radioactive water leaks from Fukushima, because they are getting no pressure from other nations to find a way to stop it. They do not seem to be able to figure out how to cover up these leaking reactors/spent fuel pools and 5000 degree Fahrenheit corium blobs that have left the buildings. So the leaks continue…..


In the following news clip, they talk about how scientists are finding radioactive plankton 60 km away from Fukushima, contaminated with 600 Bq per kg of cesium, (and other heavy metals). 

They report that as the plankton is eaten by animals, and passed up the food chain, the radiation may be concentrated into higher levels of radiation. Remember from other videos, that it only takes 50 Bq per kg  to cause death and heart disease in kids. This was well studied around Chernobyl and documented in studies.


Some people may say that there is no danger from radiation in fish from the ocean, and that all leaks have stopped from Fukushima.. How did the stopping of all leaks from Fukushima happen, when no one can even get close to these leaking nuclear reactors and spent fuel pools? Where are all of these ‘leaks’ going? Kevin explains a little bit more about this…

There are also a couple of stories about a number of seals and walruses, (food for polar bears) being found with bleeding sores and hair loss. Could this be due to radiation poisoning? These animals eat ONLY seafood, and the ocean currents from Fukushima go directly to Alaska, so it may be possible. Time will tell, because humans are at the top of the food chain, so if this is the case, these problems will eventually show up in humans as well. 


Dr. Helen Caldicott MD has a few words about the ocean radiation pollution in video below. The says the EPA is NOT testing any food (and they should be). 


The FDA says it is testing food and finding all of it is ‘safe’. My question is ; how are they testing it, with what kind of equipment? What are they looking for, external or internal radiation? What kind of equipment are they using, portable or stationary? Are they testing for alpha, beta, or gamma radiation, or all three? Where is the food being tested? Where can the public access these supposed test results? What % of food are they testing? .01%, 1%? What are the ‘safe’ levels of radiation in food according to them?


President Obama is getting huge amounts of ‘donations’ from the nuclear industry, (as are all politicians) and so far, he is in favor of building new nuclear plants and giving them more corporate welfare to keep polluting, keep on having accidents, and cause deaths for millions of years into the future.

What is the total amount of radiation released into the ocean? No one knows. No one is trying to find out. No one seems to be studying this. 


What amount of radiation was deposited into the ocean via the wind? Again no answers, no seeming interest, by ANYONE, especially not the nuclear industry or the scientists working for/with them. 


Here is a short video clip, starting at about 3:30 minutes in, showing the radiation plume from Fukushima carried by the wind into the USA. This is still happening. It has not been shut off. 

What is the total amount of radiation coming out of the reactors in an uncontrolled emergency fashion which is being diverted into temporary holding tanks? No one knows. No one is counting. No one seems to be measuring it. Why not? Why is there no news coverage about all of this?
