Concentrated Solar Energy Power Methods (Large Scale)

Solar energy from the sun can be concentrated. As one example, US Digital visits SkyFuel, a concentrating solar power plant. The video below highlights their SkyTrough which features ReflecTech and a US Digital T7 Inclinometer.
The history of solar thermal energy collection methods is explored in the following  short 5 minute video.

This is another example showing how a solar hot air collector/concentrator can be sized up to a large scale, in order to drive generator turbine blades.

In the following video, another type of  Concentrating Solar Plant Uses Liquid Salts To Collect And Store Energy.
“Siobhan Hughes discusses plans to build the world’s largest solar plant, approved by the U.S. on Monday. Alternative energy companies are racing to start solar projects before federal incentives expire at year’s end.” This project will create 1,000 jobs and power approximately 300,000 homes.

  1. Hi there! great stuff, glad to drop by your page and found these very interesting and informative. Thanks for sharing about solar energy financial management, keep it up! The most efficient way to balance energy supply and demand is to control the demand side. When property owners increase the energy efficiency of their commercial and residential buildings with upgraded windows, LED lighting, HVAC equipment, automated controls, improved insulation and building envelope, it’s a win/win for everyone.
