Radiation In Ocean Mist And Spray Can Travel Inland Up to 300 Kilometers

The above video shows one simulation of how Fukushima radiation can spread throughout the whole Pacific ocean. That is bad enough. But what happens when the low dose radiation gets to the shores of the USA?

According to Ventura County Reporter; “Scientific studies from the United Kingdom and Europe show that sea water infused with radiation of the sort spewing out of Fukushima can travel inland from the coast up to 300 kilometers.A 62-page UK study released in December 2011 found that sea spray and marine aerosols created from bubbles forming and popping when the sea is choppy or waves break have increased concentrations of radioactive “actinides.” Actinides are chemically alike radioactive metallic elements and include uranium and plutonium. One actinide infused the spray with an 812 times greater concentration of americium-241 than normal amounts of Am-241 in ambient seawater. The report cited information that sea-spray-blown cesium 137 was found 200 kilometers from the discharge source in the New Hebrides islands in northern Scotland.

In another study done by the UK Atomic Energy Research Establishment, “results showed a remarkable and sharp 30 per cent increase in cancer rates in those living within 1km of the coast. The effect was very local and dropped away sharply at 2km…Using special cloth filters, they had measured Plutonium in the air by distance from the contaminated coast. The trend was the same as the cancer trend, increasing sharply in the 1km strip near the coast. We later examined cancer rates in a higher resolution questionnaire study in Carlingford, Ireland. This clearly showed the effect increasing inside the 1km radius in the same way. The results were never published in scientific literature but were presented to the UK CERRIE committee and eventually made it into a book which I wrote in 2007 entitled, “Wolves of Water.” Professor Christopher Busby from the European Committee on Radiation Risks for RT
Either way, the moral of the studies and the video is that anyone living close to a coast in a radiation contaminated area should move away from the coast as far inland as possible in order to protect their family from the negative health effects of sea fog laden with radiation.
