Jon Stewart Learns What Happens When You Criticize Israel

Isn’t the hysterical and emotion laden attack and counter attack (on both sides?) a little bit over the top, just for wanting to talk about the issue in a deeper way? Why can’t there be a reasonable debate, between civil adults who have ‘freedom of speech’ in multiple supposedly free and democratic countries around the world, with what is supposed to be a free press in those countries?

If anyone who is not Jewish talks about anything other than a pro Israel point of view, they are immediately attacked as being ‘anti-semites’, no matter what they are saying, even if that point of view makes logical sense and the point being discussed is accurate and true.

Even Jon Stewart is attacked and his Jewishness is being questioned, because he dares to dissent from the majority who are lock step with anything Isreal says, does and/or illegally keeps secret. An example of what is being pointed at is illustrated via the article at link below…..

Why in the land of the free and the home of the brave is only ONE side being allowed on the mass media? Isn’t TRUE journalism all about airing both sides of the story equally, and then letting people decide? Whatever happened to journalism, much less investigative journalism in America? Helen Thomas talks about how she was crucified for having a ‘different’ point of view than the sacred cow sanctioned and politically ‘correct’ viewpoint, which is always pro Israel, no matter what. Helen is basically pointing at how the press is not really free in America, or anywhere else, when it comes to Israel, (and many other issues as well.) Even a journalist with a 50 year successful history and huge accomplishments can be pushed out of work for saying ‘the wrong thing’ even once, just because she violating the implied corporate and religious/politically oriented censorship laws.  She is not alone in being forced out of the corporate controlled media world, as this has happened to many other TV personalities, news reporters and commentators. 

IS PEACE BEING CENSORED IN MASS MEDIA? 

Is there an ‘equal’ right to dissent in America on ‘sensitive’ issues such as war/violence? Can a pro peace, anti war activist get air time on the mass media, without paying the price in terms of career, work, etc? Is it ever ok for musicians or journalists to speak out and make public their personal views in favor of peace? Is peace now a ‘moral’ crime in America, punishable by banishment and financial lack of support from huge corporate entities including the mass media? Why is it that the mass media seems to favor retired generals and those in favor of war, violence and killing as the solution for everything?

When did something like being pro peace or having a different viewpoint being expressed become a thing that merits firing and banishment? Is war and the military industrial complex now the new religion and cult that everyone has to worship and adore, and never a critical word regarding war mongering and war profiteering will be heard throughout the land? Everyone loves peace, but somehow, peace as a subject is censored in the mass media, and anyone who dares to talk about it is then fired, demoted, or loses all access to the media. Why is this?
