It used to be a ‘rule’ that every country was going to deal with nuclear waste that they generated in their own country, by disposing of it in their own country. There is just one small problem with this.
The leader in the secret search for an international dump site that all nuclear club nations can send their deadly nuclear waste to is being led by the US, and President Obama. The targets for this international waste dump are very poor third world countries with few residents, since they have neither the money, political muscle or the means to block a strong arm tactic by the nuclear nations to dump all of their waste on their back door step.

US GOVERNMENT DENIED NEGOTIATING NUCLEAR DUMP DEAL WITH MONGOLIA, LIED ABOUT IT IN AN OFFICIAL STATEMENT
Newsmax; “Given the extreme poverty of Mongolia, the Obama administration may believe its efforts to build an international spent fuel dump in Mongolia will encounter fewer objections and little oversight, in stark contrast to the longstanding U.S. government plans to bury spent fuel deep beneath Yucca Mountain. The protocol, drafted by Deputy Secretary of Energy Daniel Poneman in February and revised in May, also expresses the U.S. intent to facilitate commercial projects to develop Mongolia’s uranium deposits, to help the country become a fuel supplier to new nuclear power plants to be built in the UAE and elsewhere in the developing world. When Japan’s Mainichi newspapers first revealed the plans to build a nuclear fuel repository in Mongolia in May, the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo issued a sharply worded denial.
“The U.S. government is not negotiating a deal to send spent nuclear fuel to Mongolia,” the U.S. Embassy said in an official statement on May 10, 2011. But the draft nuclear cooperation agreement obtained by Newsmax shows to the contrary that building a spent fuel repository in Mongolia and helping Mongolia to become a nuclear fuel supplier were precisely the intent of Deputy Energy Secretary Daniel Poneman and his deputy, Edward McGinnis.
One reason for this emphasis is purely commercial. Companies such as Toshiba, which now owns the Westinghouse nuclear power division and was deeply involved in negotiating the four-party protocol, must pay significant fees for short-term storage of spent fuel. But once the fuel is buried in a long-term repository, title passes to the host country as does all liability for what happens to it hundreds or even thousands of years later. The MoU bears the stamp of the Obama administration’s commitment to nuclear energy as a solution to “the challenges of climate change, energy security, and economic development,” the draft protocol states.
AJW.ASAHI: Japanese researcher fears Mongolian nomads suffering from radiation exposure
A French-Mongolian joint venture started experimental drilling three years ago in southern Mongolia in the search for uranium. Shortly thereafter, increased reports of deformities and birth defects in livestock near the area started to appear. Even though the correlation between mining and the deformities has yet to be proven, reports included the birth of two-headed lambs and blind camels. Other animals are also suffering from skin ulcers and blood clots in their bodies.

THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT BOTTOMS UP ANTI NUCLEAR PROTESTORS STOPPED THIS SECRET NUCLEAR CABAL DEAL
The good news is that despite signing an agreement to open up an international waste dump in Mongolia and thinking that they had it all sewed up, the citizens of Mongolia rose up and protested. They protested so loudly, so long and so passionately, that they stopped this global international nuclear dump ‘deal’ dead in its tracks. This success story serves as a model for other countries where the nuclear industry might want to focus and sign another secret deal, out of sight of public scrutiny.
But make on mistake about it, the global nuclear monopoly will keep on working in secret to try and make a back room deal for an international high level nuclear waste storage site in some other poor, third world country. The nuclear industry will then as quickly as possible, ram all of their waste into the dump site, leaving that country to deal with the legal and financial burden imposed on it for the next million years. Is anyone willing to sign up for this deal?

You can be very rich if you want to sell out your country and take on hundreds of thousands of tons of high level nuclear waste from all over the world. As shown above, the nuclear industry desperately wants to get rid of the liability and cost of high and low level nuclear waste and pass it on to anyone dumb enough to accept it for a short term bribe. Just know that there will be huge problems with nuclear waste, no matter where it ends up.
The WIPP ‘experimental’ low level nuclear waste facility is one example of how things go wrong, despite the ‘best intentions’, even with low level nuclear waste.
AUSTRALIA IS FORCING ABORIGINES TO ACCEPT NUCLEAR WASTE
Indigenous people seem to be favorite target of the nuclear waste industry no matter where they are in the world. They don’t have a lot of political power. They have no money. They have no ‘insider’ connections, so the nuclear industry can do pretty much whatever it wants to around them.

SECRET PLAN TO MAKE AUSTRALIAN ABORIGINES TAKE ALL INTERNATIONAL NUCLEAR WASTE?
Via
ChristinaMac “The Australian government is obligated by contract, to take back its nuclear wastes from UK and France, by 2013. These wastes first came from Australia’s Lucas Heights nuclear reactor.
There is also a strong move by some prominent Australians to set up an international nuclear waste repository – e.g Mr John White’s private company “Australian Nuclear Waste Leasing”. This would make $billions for the company. The Australian public knows nothing about these plans, – unlike the Mongolian public – where the same idea was strongly opposed, and ultimately rejected.
The “medical waste” story is pretty much a fig leaf on these obligations, and plans. Australia’s medical waste is largely of short-lived radioactive isotopes, which are able to be safely contained close to the point of use. There are those in business and government who want to see Australia as the world’s nuclear hub – “cradle to grave” nuclear technology.”
