Secrets of the CIA Movie – Ralph McGehee, Phil Agee, and other former CIA officers/agents, Operation Phoenix

How To Torture And Kill People, Lose Friends, Plus Make Lots Of Enemies
Ralph McGehee; The CIA recruits at Ivy League colleges, such as National Football League rejects. The goal in the good old days was ‘fighting Communism’. Intelligence was and still is mainly performed to support political motives, not to gather ‘real’ intelligence and make the best decisions.
In most cases, CIA intelligence reports were fiction. During the Vietnam war, it was said that the US was there to ‘save democracy’ or fight communism. But in reality, most Vietnamese were against the US as occupiers and wanted them out and CIA intelligence showed that, but the war continued anyway, so that intelligence was suppressed, because it meant that the US would never win the war, and there was no reason to be there.

This video was directed and written by James L. Otis and the cast list for the people appearing as themselves, “in credits order”, are:

Daniel Patrick Moynihan (Case for abolishing the CIA)
Phil Roettinger : Nothing at Wikipedia, but the following page provides some bio.
The following piece says he’s an “ex-marine and former CIA officer who led the overthrow of Guatemalan President Arbenz in 1954”.
Peter Kombluh : search “peter Kombluh”, -Kornbluh, CIA, School Of Americas

From archive footage, and according to the ordering specified by IMDB, there are: Frank Church, William Colby, H.S. Truman, JFK, LBJ, GHW Bush, Bill Clinton, Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan.
Runtime: IMDB says 60min, but the IMDB page is entitled, “Secrets of the CIA (1998) (TV)”, so I guess the fact that this video is 44 minutes is due to cutting of commercials. A web search turned up nothing longer than 44min.

Related videos, including documentaries:
“School of Assassins” is about WHINSEC, “Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation” (clearly not security for most of us), formerly named SOA, School of Americas, and aka School of Assassins and dictators:
The following page provides a transcript for a 13-minute copy of the video.
“School of the Americas: School of Assassins”,
Activist Father Roy Bourgeois, who’s no longer a Maryknoll priest since October 2012 (probably for good reasons, on his part anyway), served as a US Navy officer for 4 years, including one in Vietnam. He founded School of Americas Watch, SOAW, in 1990 and is interviewed or is a cast member in the above video.
The following video (55 minutes) is from PBS.
“Father Roy: Inside the School of Assassins”,
“Inside Story Americas – The School of the Americas: Class over?” (25 min),

“Secret Wars of the CIA” (2:48:49),
lecture by John Stockwell on Nov. 3, 1989 (including Q&A a little past half way through),
The text description for the video, uploaded by CommissarRed, begins by saying that the lecture was in 1987 and it’s the wrong year for the video. The video itself shows 11/3/89 and the setting for the 1987 lecture with the same title is clearly different, as seen in the 6:27 clip in the following webpage at ICH which provides a 2-page transcript for the 1987 lecture.
The date discrepancy isn’t important, for John Stockwell didn’t state anything in either lecture that contradicts anything he previously or later said with his “whistle blowing”. He was consistent and I’m just adding the extra date and location info for a FYI note.
C-SPAN’s full video for the Nov. 3, 1989, lecture:
The Alternative Views fan channel at YouTube has many videos uploaded from copies of episodes of the unfortunately past Alternative Views public-access tv program that was based in Texas. There’re several interviews with John Stockwell, Phil Agee and possibly some with Ralph McGehee. Maybe there’re also some with additional CIA “whistle blowers” as well.

Also, John Pilger’s film, “War On Democracy”:
Quote: “‘The War On Democracy’ (2007) was John Pilger’s first for cinema. It explores the current and past relationship of Washington with Latin American countries …. … interviews several ex-CIA agents who took part in secret campaigns against democratic countries in the region. He investigates the School of the Americas in the US state of Georgia, …. …”

“During the Vietnam War, the CIA developed the Phoenix program, which combined psychological torture with brutal interrogations, human experimentation and extrajudicial executions. In 1963, the CIA produced a manual titled “Kubark Counterintelligence Interrogation” to guide agents in the art of extracting information from “resistant” sources by combining techniques to produce “debility, disorientation and dread.” Like the communists, the CIA largely eschewed tactics that violently target the body in favor of those that target the mind by systematically attacking all human senses in order to produce the desired state of compliance. The Phoenix program model was incorporated into the curriculum of the School of the Americas, and an updated version of the Kubark guide, produced in 1983 and titled “Human Resource Exploitation Manual,” was disseminated to the intelligence services of right-wing regimes in Latin America and Southeast Asia during the global “war on communism.”
