MA Environmental Advocacy Group Highlights State’s Massive Offshore Wind Potential | Rhode Island Public Radio

A Massachusetts-based environmental group says the state has the potential to generate more offshore wind energy than any other state along the East Coast.

Environment Massachusetts released their findings in a new report Thursday that said if wind turbines were placed in every suitable location off the coast of Massachusetts, the state could generate more than a million gigawatt hours of offshore wind energy.

That’s nearly 20 times more electricity than all of what Massachusetts used in 2016.
