Vestas Receives & Confirms 598 Megawatts Of End-Of-Quarter Turbine Orders | CleanTechnica

Danish wind energy company Vestas announced or confirmed four separate North American wind turbine orders over the weekend to close out the first quarter, totaling 598 megawatts (MW).

Across Friday and Saturday of last week, Vestas announced four separate US-based wind turbine orders (as well as a 50 MW order in India) that amounted to 598 MW. The announcements came only two days after the company announced that it would also be providing 135 MW worth of its V126-3.45 MW wind turbines along with a 25-year service agreement to the 148.4 MW Blue Cloud Wind Energy Project in Texas, which is being developed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners.

In order, the four new announcements include an order by Terra-Gen for 159 MW of Vestas’ V117-3.45 MW wind turbines for the Voyager II wind project in California (which upon completion will have a total size of 193 MW); the confirmation of a June 2016 order from MidAmerican Energy Company for 92 MW of Vestas’ V110-2.0 MW turbines for the Wind XI project in Iowa; an order by Xcel Energy for 138 MW of Vestas’  V120-2.0 MW wind turbines for the Foxtail wind project in North Dakota; and finally, a 209 MW order for Vestas’ V136-3.45 MW turbines to an undisclosed project and customer.
