WASHINGTON, D.C. – With Senate leadership determined to ram through Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court nomination this week, Oregon’s Senator Jeff Merkley has taken the emergency measure of filing for immediate relief in his separation of powers lawsuit.

The motion asks the court to compel President Trump to produce Kavanaugh’s full record before the Senate votes on Kavanaugh’s confirmation. Trump has withheld over 100,000 documents from Kavanaugh’s record through so-called “presidential privilege,” with no explanation or review to justify withholding the documents
