David Boies Pleads Not Guilty – The New York Times
The Times publicly fired Mr. Boies’s firm, which had been representing the newspaper, after learning that he had been personally involved in an undercover operation to smear Mr. Weinstein’s victims and deceive Times reporters. The Manhattan district attorney is looking into the matter and Mr. Boies’s role.
In May, “Bad Blood,” the best-selling Theranos exposé by the Wall Street Journal reporter John Carreyrou, laid out in gripping detail the aggressive efforts by Mr. Boies and his firm to intimidate — and, in some cases, terrify — company whistle-blowers. Mr. Carreyrou compared the tactics to those of “thugs.”
