Video: govt claims it would never knowingly send infected patients to care homes. But it’s official POLICY on gov.uk website – SKWAWKBOX
Denials reiterated during today’s press briefing – but government’s adult social care site still says C+ patients will be discharged to care homes
Government minister Oliver Dowden and his scientific adviser Stephen Powis today repeated the Tories’ persistent denial that the government has knowingly sent confirmed coronavirus sufferers into care homes.
Doctors and care professionals have accused the government of ‘seeding’ the virus among the most vulnerable by doing exactly that – after the SKWAWKBOX broke the news exclusively more than seven weeks ago and the NHS confirmed not only that it was happening, but that it was driven by central government policy.
That didn’t prevent the government’s denials
This is just another reason why the insane social distancing policy will not work. The same government that mandates social distancing sends infected patients from hospitals directly into understaffed and overworked senior facilities, where the most vulnerable and fragile population is, which is also where the most number of people will die once the infection spreads via ‘seeding’.
This same policy is happening in the US and in other countries as well. The justification is that they ‘need’ the critical care beds empty for more Coronavirus cases, but they create more patients for critical care by seeding the senior facilities with infected patients.
