Underwater Drones Could Be the End of Submarines | The National Interest

Worse, as submarine-hunting drones mature they could theoretically acquire offensive kamikaze capabilities similar to existing Switchblade ground-attack mini-drones.

Drone swarms, if operationalized, are too numerous and cheap to be efficiently destroyed using most current military systems.

Robot drones make all military equipment obsolete and useless.

A small robot suicide drone can attack and take out ships, tanks, subs, and all kinds of infrastructure that is critical to society, or even humans.

In Ukraine, robot drones are assassinating soldiers and bombing tanks, trucks, etc.

  1. We are entering a new terrifying world of conflict. It seems that war will be fought using drone swarms that are guided by AI. Can you imagine a swarm of 1000s of small drones that are each armed with 50 rounds of softnose bullets descending on a city or village. No one outside will live. And then add the large drones that will destroy the rest of the city. The only refuge will be far underground. This world has been written about in many SF and Fantasy novels. Where did we all go wrong?
