Customers of 10 banks including Santander, Halifax, Lloyds and Nationwide report being unable to make payments this morning. The Mirror understands the issue started when Santander’s Faster Payments system crashed, which affected customers of other banks.

Thousands of customers then reported issues at multiple banks on outages website DownDetector.

The banks affected are Santander, Bank of Scotland, Halifax, Lloyds, HSBC, Barclays, Nationwide, NatWest, Monzo and Yorkshire Bank.
