Elon Musk, Twitter, and the USG War Machine

Witnessing people praising Elon Musk for his wishy-washy attempt to open up Twitter is disturbing. Elon Musk is not a savior, a First Amendment saint, as far too many believe. Twitter is his latest toy. In the end, very little will change at Twitter. It will remain a cesspool of overblown political nonsense, an echo chamber of the ill-informed and outright brainwashed.

I have a far larger bone to pick with Elon Musk. He is providing Ukraine with the ability to continue its refusal to negotiate a peace deal with Russia. The longer this intransigence continues, the closer the big hand will move toward thermonuclear midnight on the Doomsday Clock.

I am talking about Starlink, Musk’s SpaceX internet low-orbit satellite “constellation.”

“These SATCOMs are not intended to serve as a substitute for a service like Starlink,” Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh said on October 31, making reference to antennas that allow the Ukrainians to continue in the lost cause of refusing to talk with Russia. “They help increase communication efforts on the battlefield.”
