Only one route remains out of Bakhmut according to Russian forces as artillery pounds the Ukrainian city. The head of the Russian private military company, Wagner Group, says troops had practically surrounded the city in what would be the first major victory for Russia since its latest offensive. He is calling on Ukraine to retreat before more lives are lost.
