Authorities rushed at least five people, some with critical injuries, to hospitals following a series of stabbings at a neo-Nazi rally at the California state capitol in Sacramento on Sunday, the Los Angeles Times reported.

According to ABC 10’s Frances Wang, large crowds of counter-protesters largely dressed in black had shown up to confront a planned demonstration by a group called the Traditionalist Worker Party.  Soon thereafter, the situation devolved into violence.

One video captured a shocking melee involving dozens of people fighting with flags and other improvised weaponry.

In another from a different twitter user, law enforcement seemed to have its hands full keeping the two groups apart.

Chris Hedges | 2008 All Over Again

Rise Up Times

The war against international finance, and the array of intergovernmental systems and institutions used to enforce the predatory beast of global speculation, has begun. The question is, who will win?

Financial markets in the United States and worldwide face uncertainty and potential crisis after Britain voted to leave the European Union. (Sparkx 11)

By Chris Hedges  June 24, 2016

Great Britain’s decision to leave the European Union has wiped out many bankers and global speculators. They will turn, as they did in 2008, to governments to rescue them from default. Most governments, including ours, will probably comply.

Will the American public passively permit another massive bailout of the banks? Will it accept more punishing programs of austerity to pay for this bailout? Will a viable socialism rise out of the economic chaos to halt further looting of the U.S. Treasury and the continued…

Former Liberal leader says climate change should be dominant election issue

USA election 2016climate-changeClimate change: John Hewson accuses Coalition of ‘national disgrace’
Former Liberal leader says climate should be dominant issue of election campaign rather than ‘short-term politicking’,
Guardian, Michael Slezak 25 June 16, The former Liberal leader John Hewson addressed an estimated 2000 people protesting in the Sydney suburb of Double Bay – minutes from Malcolm Turnbull’s harbourside mansion – calling on the prime minister to take stronger action on climate change.

Speaking at the same time as Turnbull addressed the party faithful at the Coalition’s campaign launch, Hewson told protesters the Coalition’s lack of action on climate change was a “national disgrace”

“I think climate change should be the dominant issue of this campaign – it should have been for quite some time,” said Hewson, who was once the local member for the seat of Wentworth, which includes Double Bay.

Citizens Jury: the ever climbing costs of Jay Weatherill’s nuclear waste dream

text-my-money-2$7k each for Jay Weatherill’s nuclear citizen jury JUNE 27, 2016 Rebecca Puddy Reporter Adelaide   The South Australian government has set aside $350,000 for 50 randomly chosen people to meet over four days to discuss the establishment of a nuclear waste dump, equating to $7000 a person.

The first two days of consultations of the citizens’ jury were held at the weekend, with Premier Jay Weatherill picketed by anti-nuclear activists on his way to open the deliberations over whether the state should have a high-level nuclear waste repository.

It is understood a budget of $350,000 has been set aside for the four days, including recruitment and management, accommodation and transport, event facilitation over the two weekends, live streaming and transcription services, catering, venue hire and security.

Not Just W. Virginia: It’s a Hard Rain Fallin’

Climate Denial Crock of the Week

When I make presentations I always ask around the room whether those over 40 believe they are seeing more frequent intense precipitation.  Always nods, always agreement.
One of the most rock solid predictions, and now, observations, of a changing planet.

Robert Scribbler:

In Kyushu, Japan on Friday, government officials urged 700,000 residents to evacuate as record heavy rains and severe flooding inundated the city for the fifth day in a row. Half a world away in West Virginia, another unpredicted record deluge dumped 8.2 inches of rain, washed out roads, cut off shopping malls, flushed burning homes down raging rivers, and left more than 14 people dead and hundreds more stranded.

Individually, these events would be odd. But taken together with what are now scores of other extreme flooding events happening around the world in the space of just a few months and the context begins to look a lot…

Nixon’s Guaranteed Basic Income Proposal

The Most Revolutionary Act

Imagine my recent surprise on learning Republican president Richard Nixon, in 1968, was on the verge of enacting an unconditional income for all poor families. It would have guaranteed a family of four $1,600 a year, equivalent to roughly $10,000 in 2016. Here we have yet another historical event that’s been conveniently erased from US history books.

Nixon began by commissioning a study involving a little over 8,500 Americans in cities around the country. Researchers attempted to answer three questions: (1) Would people work significantly less with a guaranteed income? (2) Would the program cost too much? (3) Would it prove politically unfeasible?

Outcomes were surprisingly favorable. Hours of work decreased only slightly and allowed for an increase in other useful activities, such as searching for better jobs or working in the home. Among youth, almost all the reduced work hours were used for education. In New Jersey, the rate…

The Collateral Consequences Of Hillary Clinton.

By Jerry Alatalo

“In public life, instead of modesty, incorruptibility, and honesty – shamefulness, bribery and rapacity hold sway.”

-SALLUST (86-34 B.C.) Roman historian

aaa-9Alphabet The Wall Street documentary expose’, “The Veneer of Justice in the Kingdom of Crime”, was written, produced and directed by Mr. John Titus. In the film he makes a strong case that the Obama administration Justice Department under Attorney General Eric Holder (the top law enforcement official in the United States), Assistant Attorney General Lanny Breuer and others from the department protected executives of Wall Street global giant Goldman Sachs from prosecution for major financial fraud – and prison.

For those men and women who view the film, it should become readily apparent the real reasons for Hillary Clinton’s firm resolve and still-persisting refusal to show the American people the transcripts of her three (3) $225,000 speeches to Goldman Sachs. At the same time, the level…

Historic, 1,000-year flood ‘like nothing South Carolina has ever seen’

The Extinction Protocol

SC flooding
October 2015SOUTH CAROLINA South Carolina’s record-smashing days of rain created a 1,000-year flood event that scientists may be studying for years, caused by a confluence of weather events. Some parts of the Charleston area received twice as much rain as Hurricane Hugo dropped in 1989, though mercifully without hurricane winds or a storm surge. Tropical moisture from Hurricane Joaquin and a second storm system was squeezed by two conflicting weather systems “into a narrow band of intense rainfall” funneled directly at South Carolina, according to AccuWeather. “I have never seen rainfall this intense, in this large of an area and during this short of a period in absence of direct impact from a tropical storm or hurricane,” said AccuWeather Chief Meteorologist Elliot Abrams. The storms resulted in what’s known as a 1,000-year flood, but scientists caution that doesn’t mean such flooding won’t be seen again during our…

At least 23 dead as historic floods sweep West Virginia

The Extinction Protocol

Flooding W Virgina
June 2016WEST VIRGINIAAt least 23 people, including an 8-year-old boy who was wading in a foot of water, died in massive floods in West Virginia from a storm system that has dumped a historic amount of rain in parts of the state, state officials said Friday. As much as 8-10 inches of rain fell in six to eight hours in parts of West Virginia, the National Weather Service said. This amount of rain in such a short time is likely a “one-in-a-thousand-year event,” the weather service said.
It was the third-deadliest flood on record in West Virginia, according to the West Virginia state climatologist Kevin Law. Only the Buffalo Creek flood in 1972 (when 125 died after a dam break) and a November 1985 flood (when 38 died from a combination of Hurricane Juan’s remnants and another storm) killed more in the state, Law said. News there has been significant movement along the 800-mile San Andreas Fault in the Sunshine State and an emergency drill of how to deal with a devastating tsunami along the length of the west coast, have kept both impending natural disasters in the headlines across the globe.
But it has largely been forgotten that another potential disaster is lurking within the ground in Missouri. The 150-mile long New Madrid Seismic Zone in New Madrid, Missouri, is the source of the concern, and is also thought to be overdue for a massive tremor, which would impact seven states – Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Arkansas, Kentucky, Tennessee and Mississippi. It has not seen significant earthquakes for more than 200 years.

How Fluoride Poisons You – Dr Mullinex

Published on Nov 1, 2013

Dr. Mullenix gives an excellent description to the IAOMT of exactly how the fluoride ion interacts with human physiology to cause numerous adverse health effects. She describes in some detail its effects on various organ systems in clouding the issues her research into neurological impairment especially during pregnancy raised in 1995. Many dental offices apply topical fluoride during pregnancy. This would appear to be very unwise considering the fact that Dr. Mullenix used exactly the same level of blood fluoride in her experiment as a child will experience from this procedure.

Coal Country Clobbered by Climate-fueled Cataclysm

Climate Denial Crock of the Week

The sad fact about the working class people who have supported right wing politics historically in the US, is that they are themselves so often the victims of the policies their political heroes advocate.  This is certainly true in areas of environment and climate, and yet another of those increasingly common “one in a thousand year” events in West Virginia illustrates vividly.

NBC News:

Huge floods ravaging West Virginia have killed at least 23 people, stranded hundreds and left tens of thousands without power overnight, officials said late Friday.

The threat of pop-up showers and overflowing rivers was still a concern late, and Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin said that search and rescue efforts remained a priority to help people trapped in swamped homes and cars. He said 200 National Guard members have been deployed in eight counties with about 300 more authorized to help with ongoing relief.

“I’ve never felt less welcome in this country” – these are the terrifying words I’ve heard far too many times from migrants and UK-born people of colour in the run up to the EU referendum. Open anti-migrant hostility has been embraced; let loose by a referendum designed to placate a fractured Tory party. In a country that takes pride in being “tolerant”, one of the central messages of the campaign became: Foreigners might contribute but “they” are to blame for our problems – we need our country back. Now with a Vote to Leave it has been legitimised and this country has been cleaved in two.

Let’s be clear: there was no significant left wing campaign to leave the EU. Regardless of the varied reasons Brexit supporters may have had to vote to leave, this is a victory that legitimises the xenophobia and hate of the Leave…
