Bernie Sanders’ campaign, which proposed replacing the Affordable Care Act (ACA), with a Medicare for All system, has sparked a much-needed debate over the need for a single-payer health system.
Donald Trump’s presidential campaign appears to be soliciting foreign donations despite multiple warnings and a criminal complaint filed with the Department of Justice. On Sunday, an Australian member of parliament, Terri Butler, emailed The Hill the latest fundraising solicitation she’d received from the Trump campaign.
The CEO of World Vision Australia had already expressed concern that Halabi had been held for more than 20 days without access to a lawyer, and for more than 50 days without seeing family or World Vision staff.
Muhammad Mahmoud, the lawyer representing Halabi, told the journalist Ben White, writing for Al Jazeera, that his client was not allowed to see a lawyer for 21 days.“They beat him a lot,” Mahmoud said, adding that Halabi “denies all allegations” made against him, including the so-called confession.Samir Zaqout, assistant director of Al Mezan Center for Human Rights in Gaza, the group that first provided a lawyer to Halabi, also made allegations of torture
– “…Monte Maíz, a city in Argentina, dubbed “the city of death – ”has five times the rates of miscarriages and cancer than among half the world’s population – all eyes are on glyphosate. Here’s the scary part – they only have a population of around 8,500 people. Furthermore, lung cancer accounts for 40% of the deaths there, and Monsanto’s glyphosate-based herbicide is said to be the direct cause”:(Argentina Has a “City of Death” Thanks to Monsanto – By Heather Callaghan)
THE ABILITY TO IGNORE DIRE WARNINGS OF A COMING APOCALYPSE WILL BE THE DEATH OF THE EARTH AS WE KNOW IT.
When a frog is placed in a pot of cold water heated slowly on a stove, the frog will die as it adapts to the increased heat. We are the frog. Key scientific groups with dedicated and knowledgeable climate scientists have slowly been raising the temperature with their diligent research and peer reviewed reports. These scientists consistently err on the side of the most conservative assessment. The peer review process waters down the language to the lowest common denominator.
The process adds 2 to 4 years from data collection to final publication. Scientific language is notoriously dull and dense -a sleep inducing description of the coming apocalypse. We are unconcerned. The well funded denier machine paid millions by fossil fuel interests is staffed by the same people who successfully added decades to effort to tie tobacco to cancer.
“Think tanks” and “conservative” Foundations like The Heritage Foundation successfully allow Senator Jim Inhof of Oklahoma cover for his claim that the Bible proves man-made Climate Change is The Greatest Hoax. This senator from Exxon backed by Koch Industries may be more extreme but he and his party are all on board with their financial backers. After all the fossil fuel industry is the most powerful and wealthy in world history.
The task of deniers is simple – DO NOTHING
Price: There is no market for disposing of HLNW, so the proposed ‘price’ is a guess. It is ‘an illustrative benchmark’ (p 293) – but is critical to the $51 billion profit figure. Experts cannot predict the price of gas, coal or iron ore one year ahead – despite well developed markets for all three. How can a century-long price for something that is not yet traded be sensibly predicted? The price used by the RC is much higher than that suggested by Finnish experience. It is nothing more than a guess.
Cost: There is no existing deep geological storage anywhere in the world, so no experience with what it actually costs. The cost estimate – from transport through to maintenance of the site for 100,000 years – is also simply a guess. The Finns who must dispose of about 6,000 tonnes of their own high level nuclear waste have recently granted construction approval for a deep geological dump at Onkalu – after 40 years lead up. This is the first of its kind in the world – expected to be operational in the 2020s. But until it is built, there is no reliable cost experience for the experimental technology. Further, Onkalu is much smaller than that proposed for SA. What are the costs of something 23 times larger likely to be? Who knows? There are no reliable estimates of what it will cost to transport 138,000 tonnes of HLNW or intermediate waste from, say, Korea to Port Augusta – and then to store it and re-transport it to the far north of the state. Such international transport has not been done before.
In January 2013, President Barack Obama promised to make the rules for the United States’ targeted killing program “more transparent to the American people and the world” because “in our democracy, no one should just take my word for it that we’re doing things the right way.”Three and a half years later, a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request by the ACLU and resulting court order finally forced the administration to make public the Presidential Policy Guidance regarding the program. But much of it is redacted, or blacked out. That is the opposite of transparent.
Firefighters are battling a 3,000-acre wildfire in Northern California that destroyed at least 175 buildings and forced about 1,400 residents to flee their lake community, authorities said Monday.
The fast-moving Clayton fire broke out late Saturday afternoon off Highway 29 and Clayton Creek Road, forcing the entire community of Lower Lake — located in Lake County, more than 100 miles north of San Francisco — to evacuate, officials said.
In 2009, investment bank Credit Suisse calculated that geothermal power costs 3.6 cents per kilowatt-hour, versus 5.5 cents per kilowatt-hour for coal, if geothermal receives loans with lower rates than offered by the market.”
“We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves strong. The amount of work is the same.”–Carlos Castenada
“If we live a self-directed, self-motivated, self-centered life, always needing to get our own way, then we’re going to be miserable. In fact, many times we believe it’s our problems that are making us unhappy when, in reality, it’s because we’re focused on ourselves!”–Joyce Meyer
“When you’re miserable, you don’t want anyone around you to be happy.”–Amy Lee
Before the sudden emergence of a media-campaign claiming links between Zika and microcephaly in infants born to infected women, no one had ever considered Zika to be worthy of comment. Discovered in 1947, in Africa, it was known as a largely benign organism that may cause mild flu-like symptoms in 20% of those infected (the other 80% will be symptomless).
So, why the sudden hysteria? Why the travel-warnings, the mass-sraying programs, the dire warnings? Is it because Zika has now been found to be a serious threat to human health? Not at all. If you look beyond the screaming media headlines you’ll see there is as yet no proven causal connection between Zika and microcephaly at all.
The original Brazilian research on which the media hysteria was based found 404 confirmed cases of microcephaly (not over 4000 as some media alleged), and in only 17 – seventeen – of these was Zika detected in the mother or infant.
As Graeber describes it, all commerce was based on credit prior to the development of coinage around 500 BC. In all societies, coinage arose in conjunction with the onset of empire building – traveling armies had to be paid in hard currency rather than credit. The result, according to Graeber, was the simultaneous rise of military/coinage/slavery* empires in Greece, China and India.According to Graeber, all the major religions arose around the same time – as a “peace movement” opposing militarism, materialism and slavery.Around 400 AD, when the Roman and other empires collapsed, coinage vanished, along with the standing armies that necessitated its creation. During the Middle Ages, nearly all financial transactions were based on credit. Until 1493, when the “discovery” of the New World initiated a new cycle of empire building, accompanied by militarism, coinage and slavery.

The music is the unique energetic expression of your soul. It manifests as gifts. Only you can express these. Only you can give them to the world. As you connect with and express your gifts, something amazing happens. The light within you expands, bringing an uplifting vibration into your energy field. As this happens, your frequency increases and your light radiates out into the world. This light becomes incorporated into your interactions with others; it provides a radiant spark to your activities.
The sound of your music is soundless from a conventional world view. However, this sound is boundless and vast – heard throughout the cosmos as your divine creative spark. It indeed has tones, from a spiritual perspective, but the sound cannot be detected with human ears.
Ways To Cut Toxic Emotional Cords
Bathe in sea salt, epson salt and or himalayan salt. Negative, toxic cords of energy cannot hold a charge when you bathe your aura in sea salt.
Take a selenite wand, comb your aura from top to bottom, go around your entire body, moving clockwise front to back. This will cut all toxic cords.
Align your energy with Archangel Michael and when you feel his presence, request that he use his mighty sword to cut the negative cords from your auric field.
Shamans, medicine people, mystics and sages throughout the ages have always known that the soul doesn’t speak the human language.Instead, our souls communicate with us through symbols, metaphors, archetypes, poetry, deep feelings and magic. The human language is far too limiting to express the full spectrum of profound knowledge, insight and revelation that the soul has to share. As such, most of us were never taught to tune into the dancing rhythms of our deepest selves. Instead, due to our social conditioning we have come to heavily rely on the mind only and its interpretation of reality.
Trump: Climate change won’t be ‘devastating’ http://thehill.com/policy/energy-environment/291231-trump-climate-change-wont-be-devastating Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said Thursday “there could be some impact” from a changing climate, “but I don’t believe it’s a devastating impact.”In an interview with The Miami Herald, Trump reiterated he’s “not a big believer in manmade climate change,” and while he acknowledged problems such as rising sea levels, he attributed them to “a change in weather patterns, and you’ve had it for many years.”
What Trump gets wrong about energy in America , WP, By Chris Mooney August 8 2016 In his economic speech in Detroit Monday (transcript here), Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump laid out a series of energy proposals that, in stark contrast to those of Hillary Clinton or the Obama administration, would try to shore up traditional industries centered on coal, oil, natural gas.
The most striking thing about the plan is that it seems premised on a world in which these energy sources don’t have this major environmental drawback called climate change. Trump himself has told The Washington Post he is “not a big believer in man-made climate change,” and the divide between himself and Clinton on this matter is one of the sharpest policy differences of the present campaign, clearly wider than the split in views between Obama-McCain (2008) or Obama-Romney (2012)…..
although Trump says coal jobs have been lost, he…

Japan had to act after the Fukushima Prefecture suffered the nuclear catastrophe. The worlds best minds were brought to bare on this disaster and a newly formed Nuclear Regulation Association (NRA) was born. However, the only expert on geology was soon ejected from the committee because of differences in opinion. He was not replaced by another Geologist as it as found that Geologists did not know enough about Nuclear Physics. Then as the worry of Pyroplastic flows blew away and Japan was able to restart a couple of reactors (but both have since been re-shut down ).Hidden deep in the OECD/NEA report though, is this slightly worrying sentence;“The Interim Summary acknowledges that the current understanding of magmatic processes indicates that future volcanic hazards to a repository may be present even in areas with no known Quaternary eruptive centres “
There was a time when shamanic ceremonies played a key role in a society. Such rituals involved the consumption of different herbs under the supervision of the shaman who acted as a spiritual guide for those overwhelmed by the strong effects of their alternative medicine.
The Aztec Empire is renowned for its many ‘exotic’ practices that involved mushrooms, the special kind. They called them ‘teonanácatl’ which stands for ‘god mushrooms’. Using these powerful instruments, Aztec spiritual leaders were communing with their deities, or other powerful spirits from an alternative plane of existence.
This however was about to change with the coming of the Spanish conquistadores who misunderstood these timeworn practices and quickly demonized them. The mushrooms were considered tools of the devil by the Catholic missionaries, and soon these practices became forbidden under the capital law in both Central and South America.
The ‘great derangement’ is the inherent human propensity to ignore “an inconvenient truth,” a kind of resistance or even a hara-kiri leading to self-destruction. In the face of this calamity, Ghosh voices his serious apprehension at the paralysis of our imagination, an inaction that refuses to acknowledge a bleak and overwhelming future. We need to act, and act immediately, lest it is too late to acknowledge the question: “Why did we not wake up earlier?” This is our collective amnesia, a state of disabling inertia, that is visible in the imaginative and cultural failure of the 20th century, particularly in the novel and its continuous resistance to the language of climate change and the larger human concerns for an avoidable calamitous end.
While Ghosh candidly confesses to not being able to employ such “improbable” themes in his own writing although he has dealt with unusual weather conditions, storms and floods, he has ironically begotten a work of prose to urge and prompt writers, artists and political scientists to wake up to the conditions of an imperiled world. As Ghosh argues, “Is it possible that the arts and literature of this time will one day be remembered not for their daring, not for their championing of freedom, but rather because of their complicity in the Great Derangement?”The second Tsunami is upon us and this time higher reaches of our surroundings will not save us.

The mass shooting in Orlando left 49 people dead and over 50 injured at a gay nightclub. It was an attack on the LGBT community, an act of hate carried out with a gun. Hatred comes in many different forms. But there’s no reason why those filled with hate should have a gun.
But they went into detail on his spending, and this is what really caught my eye and captured my attention. The Post published a bar graph based on information obtained from FEC filings on expenditures and it’s fascinating. Here is the graph;
Walmart’s low-wage workers cost U.S. taxpayers an estimated $6.2 billion in public assistance including food stamps, Medicaid and subsidized housing, according to a report published to coincide with Tax Day, April 15.Americans for Tax Fairness, a coalition of 400 national and state-level progressive groups, made this estimate using data from a 2013 study by Democratic Staff of the U.S. Committee on Education and the Workforce.
Sec. Clinton herself has yet to make a public statement opposing a vote on the job-killing Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) in the lame-duck session of Congress after the November elections.
A martial principle of great wisdom says that military stupidity comes in three grades: Ordinarily stupid; really, really, really stupid; and fighting Russia. Think Charles XII at Poltava, Napoleon after Borodino, Adolf and Kursk.Letting dilettantes, grifters, con men, pasty Neocons, bottle-blonde ruins, and corporations decide on war is insane. We have pseudo-masculine dwarves playing with things they do not understand. So far as I am aware, none of these fern-bar Clausewitzes has worn boots, been in a war, seen a war, or faces any chance of being in a war started by themselves. They brought us Iraq, Afghanistan, and Isis, and can’t win wars against goatherds with AKs. They are going to fight…Russia?
Since at least 1956, the press has been trying to manage public awareness by staying hush-hush about anti-gravity research, or discounting those who attempted to show that it was real. However, a trade press magazine, the Aviation Report, made numerous references to anti-gravity projects, and listed many of the companies pursuing research into anti-gravity technologies. Quotes from the Aviation Report listed in the Aviation Studies (International) Ltd. report are suggestive of what was truly going on at Boeing, Lockheed and other agencies despite what the public was being told.
What Anti-Gravity Means to the World at Large
Anti-gravity, first and foremost would make petrol-guzzling cars, crumbling electric grids, and other outdated and dirty fuels a total waste of time. Anti-gravity, as Nikola Tesla made clear, would make space flight to other heavenly bodies as simple as driving your car to a nearby city, today.
It would also turn Einstein’s E=MC2 theory on its head, and it also suggests, as Tesla explained, that the ether is given to us to use responsibly by a life-giving creative force. In short, everything we need is already out there, in abundant supply. We just need to tap into it and free these technologies from the grip of the military industrial complex.
By Steve Beckow, Golden Age of Gaia
My focus has shifted from primary attention on core issues to primary attention on their residue, our conditioning. I could have said our habit patterns, our programming, our socialization – we know our conditioned or programmed responses by many names.
Once our core issues no longer explode and determine our responses to life, we still face the need to examine and complete these more subtle layers of the constructed self that we’re deconstructing.

They are not even referring to the fact that millions of Sanders voters have not been allowed to vote, due to the fact that they had the audacity to register as Independents, a move they undoubtedly thought would allow them freedom of choice in their voting.
When the “crazy Bernie people” say that the DNC is rigging the election in favor of Hillary Clinton, they LITERALLY mean that votes are being changed by the voting machines. That’s ridiculous, right?!This is America, right?!And where is the proof to support such ridiculous allegations? These are all valid questions. If someone is going to make an allegation of electioneering, then they should provide support for their claim. This is problematic.Let’s imagine for a second that the “crazy Bernie people” are correct, that they voted for Sanders, but their votes were changed to Clinton by the machines. How would they prove this?
It may seem plausible to suppose that the head of the American Tobacco Company would have imagined at least that a dependable supply of raw material to his industry would depend upon a stable, reasonably thriving population of farmers and upon the continuing fertility of their farms. But he imagined no such thing. In this he was like apparently all agribusiness executives. They don’t imagine farms or farmers. They imagine perhaps nothing at all, their minds being filled to capacity by numbers leading to the bottom line. Though the corporations, by law, are counted as persons, they do not have personal minds, if they can be said to have minds. It is a great oddity that a corporation, which properly speaking has no self, is by definition selfish, responsible only to itself. This is an impersonal, abstract selfishness, limitlessly acquisitive, but unable to look so far ahead as to preserve its own sources and supplies. The selfishness of the fossil fuel industries by nature is self-annihilating; but so, always, has been the selfishness of the agribusiness corporations. Land, as Wes Jackson has said, has thus been made as exhaustible as oil or coal.
The patients we chose were suffering from the following illnesses:Parkinson’s disease, breast cancer, Crohn’s Disease, diabetes, depression, prostate cancer, Neuro-endocrine cancer, IBS, and more. I won’t spoil the ending but I will say this – the healing breakthroughs in this film will surprise you!Our mission is to bring this ancient healing knowledge to the people who need it most – while at the same time, honoring the indigenous communities that still hold this sacred healing wisdom. The regions of the world where this medicine still exists are being destroyed at an alarming pace and these tribes need all the support they can get.
The government refused again Thursday to allow the use of marijuana for medical purposes, reaffirming its conclusion that the drug’s therapeutic value has not been proved scientifically and defying a growing clamor to legalize it for the treatment of a variety of conditions. In an announcement in the Federal Register and a letter to petitioners, the Drug Enforcement Administration turned down requests to remove marijuana from “Schedule I,” which classifies it as a drug with “no currently accepted medical use” in the United States and precludes doctors from prescribing it.The decision keeps the federal government at odds with 25 states and the District of Columbia, which have passed laws allowing medical use of marijuana to some degree. Members of Congress have called for its reclassification and on Wednesday, the National Conference of State Legislatures adopted a resolution asking the federal government to remove marijuana from Schedule I.
Through history up until today, too often the world’s most powerful have been able to commit, with no accountability or negative consequences – with impunity – atrocities through initiation of illegal wars: 1) carried out without being attacked, without any justification for the reason of self-defense, and 2) without getting United Nations Security Council approval. Harvard Law School graduate Ben Ferencz has worked hard all of his life to correct/fix that undesirable, often destructive situation in the world. His idea for global jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court, where all nations unanimously agree to join the court and abide by its laws, is perfectly reasonable, simple to understand, yet the highest vision hasn’t been reached; some nations, including the largest, remain outside of International Criminal Court jurisdiction.

What could be more environmentally and socially advantageous than an entire country going 100% organic? The Danish government has actually announced that it will transform the entire country’s agriculture into organic and sustainable farming. This means that Denmark will be the first country on the planet to become 100% organic.Denmark is at the fore-front when it comes to organic items and how they trade with the world, nevertheless the Danish government has actually set a bigger challenge. The federal government has handled to raise a huge 53 million euros in 2015 in an effort to turn the nation into a 100% organic powerhouse. This is likely to be the most enthusiastic strategy of the century however considering the fact that Denmark has currently shown it’s love for organic food; this does appear to be possible.
