Daryl Hanna/Jill Stein Green Party Female Presidential Candidate Arrested For Bringing Food/Water To Protesters At Keystone XL Tar Sands Pipeline, She Connects Dots Between Droughts, Super Storms, Forest Fires, And Fossil Fuel Monopoly Preventing Renewable Energy | A Green Road Journal

Native Americans call pipelines ‘black snakes’ that have a poison bite. The poisonous black snake pollutes the water, the air, the soil and the people with heavy metal radioactive and chemical poisons that end up killing everything they touch. This snake is more deadly than the most poisonous pit viper. But there is so much money involved in selling this black snake’s poisonous venom to willing customers, that anything and everything is justified to get rid of anyone resisting this suicidal profit making monopoly.

New President of Mexico says Neoliberal Privatization is Theft – O Society

New President of Mexico says Privatization is Theft – O Society

Leftist president-elect Andrés Manuel López Obrador takes office today in Mexico. Here, he explains how privatization has pillaged the public — and calls for a break with the neoliberal order.

In terms of our collective wellbeing, the politics of pillage has been an unmitigated disaster. In economic and social affairs, we’ve been regressing instead of moving forward. But this is hardly surprising: the model itself is designed to favor a small minority of corrupt politicians and white-collar criminals. The model does not seek to meet the needs of the people, or to avoid violence and conflict; it seeks neither to govern openly nor honestly. It seeks to monopolize the bureaucratic apparatus and transfer public goods to private hands, making claims that this will somehow bring about prosperity.

The result: monstrous economic and social inequality. Mexico is one of the countries with the greatest disparities between wealth and poverty in the world. According to a 2015 article written by Gerardo Esquivel, a professor at the College of Mexico and a Harvard graduate, 10 percent of Mexicans control 64.4 percent of the national income, and 1 percent own 21 percent of the country’s wealth. But most significantly, inequality in Mexico deepened precisely during the neoliberal period. Privatization allowed it to thrive.

Don’t Eat That Razor Clam! | CDFW Marine Management News

The sport razor clam fishery closed more than two years ago in Humboldt and Del Norte counties due to harmful levels of a naturally occurring marine biotoxin, domoic acid. The state Department of Public Health (CDPH) has documented varying levels of toxin in the clams since the closure, but levels have not fallen low enough to reopen the sport season.

In fact, recently skyrocketing levels of domoic acid in northern California razor clams have renewed concerns among state agency biologists and scientists. Razor clams from Little River Beach (also known as Clam Beach) in Humboldt County were tested for domoic acid in mid-November, 2018 and found to contain 130-300 parts per million of domoic acid – up to 15 times the 20 parts per million consumption alert level.

“We are concerned about the extremely high domoic acid test results that came in a couple of weeks ago for razor clam,” said Christy Juhasz, an environmental scientist with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW). “We’re taking this opportunity to remind clammers that the razor clam fishery has been closed since April 2016 to protect the public from consuming potentially lethal razor clams.”

Even at low levels, domoic acid exposure can cause nausea, diarrhea and dizziness in humans. At higher levels, it can cause persistent short-term memory loss, seizures and, in some cases, death.

The fishery closure prohibits the recreational take and possession of razor clams from Humboldt and Del Norte county beaches. It effectively removed access to one of the tastiest food clams in California with no season reopening in sight, as testing continues to confirm dangerous levels of domoic acid in razor clam populations in the affected counties.

Single celled Pseudo-nitzschia can overlap to form chains.  CDPH photo
Domoic acid, which causes amnesic shellfish poisoning, may be produced after a “bloom” of a single-celled plant called Pseudo-nitzschia. A massive Pseudo-nitzschia bloom occurred off the California coast in 2015. When high levels of domoic acid were detected in clams after the bloom, CDPH issued a consumption warning for bivalve shellfish, including razor clams, in Humboldt and Del Norte counties. The sport razor clam fishery was officially closed in those counties in early 2016.

Blooms of Pseudo-nitzschia do not always produce domoic acid, and there is currently no reliable way to predict where or when a bloom will produce the toxin. Shellfish such as clams, mussels, and other species can accumulate high levels of domoic acid without becoming ill themselves.

There is no way to prepare clams that will remove the toxin – cooking and freezing have no effect. To stay safe, get the latest information about fishing season closures by calling CDFW’s Domoic Acid Fishery Closure Information Line at (831) 649-2883. Fishing season closures are also listed on the CDFW website. For the latest consumption warnings, call the CDPH Biotoxin Information line at (510) 412-4643 or toll-free at (800) 553-4133.

President Donald Trump launched into a no-holds-barred attack on his former secretary of state on Friday hours after Rex Tillerson gave his own blistering assessment of his time as the president’s chief diplomat.

“Rex Tillerson didn’t have the mental capacity needed,” Trump tweeted. “He was dumb as a rock and I couldn’t get rid of him fast enough. He was lazy as hell.”

Every President Recited The Apostles’ Creed Except Trump, And People Definitely Noticed

People on Twitter are calling out President Donald Trump for failing to recite the Apostles’ Creed at the funeral for former President George H. W. Bush on Wednesday.

Footage from the event shows much of the church, including the former presidents seated with Trump, standing to recite the profession of faith.

Trump and first lady Melania Trump stood, but did not recite the creed, which was written in the program, nor did they sing the hymns.

Stephen Kent knew he’d become a threat when the Church of Scientology sent no fewer than 16 letters to University of Alberta administrators demanding he stop disparaging the church.

“They wrote letter after letter to different levels of administration—from the president on down—to curtail my activities, to silence me, to get me somehow sanctioned,” said the sociologist and cult expert.

It’s not surprising when you consider Kent has been tracking the tactics of the church since the early 1980s. As a post-doctoral fellow at McMaster University, he began collecting stories of confinement, sexual assault and coercion not widely known at the time.

Yesterday the city council in Cincinnati, Ohio approved a resolution to move the city to 100% renewable energy by 2035, following on an earlier commitment to move the city’s municipal operations to 100% renewables. This new move will include the power for all city fleets.

Cincinnati has only 300,000 residents, and as such this announcement on its own will not sway the future of the U.S. electric supply. However, Cincinnati is also the 100th municipality to either achieve 100% renewables in its electricity supply or to set a goal for 100%.

This includes the cities of San Jose and San Diego, California, each of which are home to more than one million residents. And this is in addition to a 100% renewable energy mandate in Hawaii and California’s mandate for full decarbonization of electricity, with both setting a target date of 2045.

Washington (CNN)The Trump administration will reverse an Obama-era coal emissions rule as part of its effort to loosen restrictions on the coal industry, just days after a US government report warned that aggressive action is needed to curb greenhouse gases and ease the impact of global warming.

The reversal won’t lead to the immediate construction of new coal-fired power plants, but it does send an immediate political signal that the Trump administration is intent on shoring up the coal industry and other energy interests.

For the study, they made their own polystyrene nanoparticles in a lab that were carbon-radiolabeled so that they that could be traced in the bodies of great scallops, which are found mainly in the Atlantic.

They found that within just six hours, billions of particles that were 250 nm, or about 0.000025 mm, had become lodged in the intestines of scallops, while even smaller pieces had made their way into other body parts, including their kidneys, gonads, muscles and gills.

Even after the scallops had been move back into clean water, it took weeks for them to expel all of the nanoparticles.

Other current officials who played key roles in Central America include Elliott Abrams, who oversaw Central American policies at the State Department and who is now a Middle East adviser on Bush’s National Security Council staff, and Vice President Dick Cheney, who was a powerful defender of the Central American policies while a member of the House of Representatives.

The insurgencies in El Salvador and Guatemala were crushed through the slaughter of tens of thousands of civilians. In Guatemala, about 200,000 people perished, including what a truth commission later termed a genocide against Mayan Indians in the Guatemalan highlands. In El Salvador, about 70,000 died including massacres of whole villages, such as the slaughter carried out by a U.S.-trained battalion against hundreds of men, women and children in and around the town of El Mozote in 1981.

The Reagan-Bush strategy also had a domestic component, the so-called “perception management” operation that employed sophisticated propaganda to manipulate the fears of the American people while hiding the ugly reality of the wars. The Reagan-Bush administration justified its actions in Central America by portraying the popular uprisings as an attempt by the Soviet Union to establish a beachhead in the Americas to threaten the U.S. southern border.

Bush proved his cajones by mass slaughter and destruction. In the aftermath, he shamefully said it was “worth it” – smashing nations a US specialty before and after the rape of Panama.

William Blum earlier called (fantasy) “democracy” America’s deadliest export. Its agenda makes the world safe for Wall Street and other corporate favorites at the expense of ordinary people everywhere.

Terror-bombing blasted power plants, dams, water purification facilities, sewage treatment and disposal systems, telephone and other communications, hospitals, schools, residential areas, mosques, irrigation sites, food processing, storage and distribution facilities, hotels and retail establishments.

Transportation infrastructure, oil wells, pipelines, refineries and storage tanks, chemical plants, factories and other commercial operation, civilian shelters, government buildings, and historical sites were also destroyed.

The Panama and Gulf War were two of history’s great crimes. In Iraq, virtually everything needed for normal life was destroyed or heavily damaged.

Genocidal sanctions killed up to two millions Iraqis, two-thirds of them children under age-five. Bush II’s 2003 “shock and awe” blitzkrieg through 2007 took up to 2.0 million more lives, mostly young children.

Two imperial wars of aggression and genocidal sanctions destroyed the cradle of civilization. War and related violence in Iraq continues to this day, the nation occupied as a US colony.

Bush I’s new world order agenda, continued by his successors, including Bush II, features endless wars of aggression, state terror on a global scale, along with growing homeland tyranny, heading toward becoming full-blown.

New Lancet Study Shows Right-Wing Attacks on Refugees and Migrants Based on ‘White Nationalist Propaganda’—Not Facts

New Lancet Study Shows Right-Wing Attacks on Refugees and Migrants Based on ‘White Nationalist Propaganda’—Not Facts

A new study published Thursday in The Lancet, one of the world’s preeminent medical journals, makes clear the increasingly familiar attacks used by right-wingers worldwide to dehumanize migrants and refugees by describing them as disease-infested is a xenophobic slur rooted in racism and hate, not facts or the science of public health.

The two-year analysis by two dozen experts at universities including Johns Hopkins and Columbia found that international migrants are less likely than people born in their new countries to die of conditions including heart disease, cancer, respiratory illnesses, and others.

The notion that immigrants like the small group of asylum-seekers who traveled from Central American countries to the U.S.-Mexico border recently are unhealthy and will bring disease into the U.S. “is a false argument that is used to keep migrants out,” one of the study’s authors, Dr. Paul Spiegel of the Center for Humanitarian Health at Johns Hopkins, told NBC News.

When Silvia Hernandez first immigrated to California over two decades ago, she worked tirelessly to support her family. After holding jobs in sweatshops, factories, and housekeeping, she pursued a cosmetology license and began doing hair professionally. She was well aware that the “place where I was coming from and my skin color” meant she “had to work harder than other people if I wanted to make money.

But when she became sick and was unable to work, the life she’d built fell apart. Following an eviction, she applied for “all the housing programs available” and sought out medical care, but “the system didn’t give me any other choices but to go to Skid Row,” the 50-square-block area of downtown Los Angeles that is home to several thousand unhoused people. There, she heard similar stories from numerous other women–mostly Black and Latina–and realized she “couldn’t stay as a witness anymore without doing something.” Today, Silvia directs her energy toward advocating on behalf of the Skid Row community “to make our struggles visible, to fight for our rights, and to win.

‘Lobbyists Are Here. Goldman Sachs Is Here. Where’s Labor? Activists?’ Tlaib and Ocasio-Cortez Pull Back Curtain on Corporate-Sponsored Freshman Orientation

Pulling back the curtain on the ostensibly “bipartisan” orientation for newly elected members of Congress at Harvard’s Kennedy School in Boston, Reps.-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) informed the public through live social media updates on Thursday that—contrary to the ideologically neutral advertising—the private conference featured a heavy dose of speeches by corporate CEOs and completely shut out organized labor and members of the progressive community.

“Our ‘bipartisan’ congressional orientation is co-hosted by a corporate lobbyist group,” Ocasio-Cortez noted, likely referring to the Koch-funded American Enterprise Institute, which is co-sponsoring the event. “Other members have quietly expressed to me their concern that this wasn’t told to us in advance. After Years of Fearmongering Mythical Threat of Voter Fraud, GOP ‘Silence Now Deafening’ as Real Election Fraud Exposed in North Carolina

The Republican Party and President Donald Trump have spent a lot of time issuing hysterical, racist, and evidence-free warnings about the prevalence of “voter fraud” in the U.S. as a pretext to roll back voting rights, but the GOP has been conspicuously silent after what has been described as a clear case of election fraud was discovered in North Carolina’s 9th congressional district (NC-09), where a Republican candidate edged out his Democratic opponent by just over 900 votes.

“Not enough people are talking about this clear case of election fraud. A new election must be held immediately.”
—Rep. Ro Khanna
Last week, the North Carolina State Board of Elections and Ethics voted unanimously against certifying Republican Mark Harris’ narrow win over Democrat Dan McCready, with one member of the board vaguely citing “unfortunate activities” that may have distorted the final results.

Reporting and witness testimony in the days since the board vote has detailed “a slew of evidence” indicating that GOP operatives carried out a large ballot-harvesting effort, in which thousands of absentee ballots may have been collected and destroyed in an attempt to swing the election in the Republican Party’s favor.

Wall Street had a rollercoaster ride on Thursday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average swinging from a session low where it was down 784 points, to end the day with a decline of just 77 points.

The frenzied day of trading began overnight when news broke that Meng Wanzhou, a high-profile executive at China’s Huawei Technologies, had been arrested at the behest of U.S. authorities as she traveled in Canada at the weekend. That sparked broad fears among investors that the incident would swell into a geopolitical and diplomatic imbroglio, shattering the fragile cease-fire in the U.S.-China trade skirmish.

I hold hands with Oneness altogether, and so do you. Never doubt love for even one bewildering moment. Once and for all, Oneness is permanent – lock, stock, and barrel.

Yes, Oneness, One Heart beats. Love is. Oneness is. Life is. One pulse of love beyond a shadow of a doubt – this is love. Doubt is not love. Love is, and never was not. Love and life go together. Love is tried and true. Love doesn’t just linger. Love is the high point.

All the fuss in life is wayward. Your belief system may be derelict. Once a derelict is too much. You have entered My heart. Oneness is more than a happenstance. It is the content of life.

Love is known. There is no existence without love abounding. Call a halt to dissension from love.

Oneness is the foundation of life. You cannot miss out on Oneness. Oneness is tried and true. This is Eternity. There is no severance from love. Love is known. Lean back into love once and for all. Give up distracting your so-called individuality from its train track of love. Love is a given. There is no going away from love. Stay on the straight and narrow of love. You are My Heir to love and to nothing less.

Your DNA is love. Your DNA is not loveless. Lovelessness does not factor into life. Love is the sole purpose of life. Love is life.

Consider this: You are the sole purpose to which I am dedicated. I am the God of Love, and so are you the extension of My love. You are smack in the center of My love. You are My love. You are My Beloved, and I AM yours. This is Oneness once and for al

Election Fraud Is Coming From Inside the GOP – Bloomberg

Election Fraud Is Coming From Inside the GOP – Bloomberg

An analysis by North Carolina political scientist Michael Bitzer showed a pattern of suspicious results for mail ballots, especially in Bladen and Robeson counties, which make up less than 2 percent of the state’s population but combined for 18 percent of mail ballots that were requested but never turned in. Black voters there have said their ballots were collected and then seemingly disappeared.

The daily crisis that is Trump’s presidency often obscures the extended crisis that is the Republican Party. In Michigan and Wisconsin Republican legislators are seeking to steal not votes but their meaning. Having lost statewide elections in November, the Republicans, many representing intricately gerrymandered districts, intend to rob incoming Democrats of the powers of their offices, voters be damned. They are smashing the peaceful transition of power without which democracy instantly fails.

The Trump era combines the criminality of Watergate with the demagogy of McCarthyism. Special counsel Robert Mueller has been doing his best on the Watergate front, rolling up the criminal network that has surrounded Trump, from his haplessly crooked personal lawyer Michael Cohen to his dangerously crooked campaign chairman Paul Manafort.

23 Signs You’re Suffering From a Victim Mentality ⋆ LonerWolf

No one is born with a victim mentality, just as no one is born clinically depressed or anxious. Instead, the victim mentality is an acquired personality trait, meaning that it is the result of early life conditioning and coping mechanisms.

Most victims were victimized in some way as children, whether that was through physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse or psychological abuse. Self-victimization can also develop through the codependent relationships we had with our parents, or simply by observing and adopting the unhealthy victim mentality exhibited by one or more of our family members.

However, although what happens to us as children is completely beyond our control, it is our responsibility as adults to step into our power and reclaim responsibility for our happiness.

9 Benefits of Being a Victim
Playing the victim actually has a number of juicy perks. These rewards make it very difficult to break out of such a mindset, which is why most victims seem to be so emotionally invested in perpetuating this type of toxic behavior

Manifest by keeping the high ground

If you are wishing to draw a straight line, the most important factor is to keep your eye on the target mark. By doing so, all your body’s systems will work together to cooperate in reaching that final destination. There is no real thought involved with the motion itself, rather, it is an act of faith and trust that all will come together and do their individual jobs to make it happen. You choose the goal and move into the action of unfoldment to reach it. You might make an adjustment or two on the way, but you will reach your target in a fairly direct fashion.

The same it is with your manifestations. Choose the essence of what it is you would like to experience and allow all systems to come together to lead you there. You do not need to know what each individual step is, the flow will activate and find the way.  Your job is to simply lead through your focus, which is your blessing of continuation, and not stall yourself with the whys and hows. That is the specialty of the universe, and it is our greatest service and joy to orchestrate it all for you.  ~Archangel Gabriel through Shelley Young

George Herbert Walker Bush and the myth of the ‘good’ Gulf War | Alternet

It is important to note that Craig Fuller, a close friend of George H.W. Bush and his chief of staff when he was vice president, was in charge of Hill & Knowlton’s Washington office.  For $11.8 million, Fuller and more than 100 H&K executives across the country oversaw the selling of the war.

They organized public rallies, provided pro-war speakers, lobbied politicians, developed and distributed information kits and news releases, including scores of video news releases shown by stations and networks as if they were bona fide journalism and not paid-for propaganda.

H&K’s research arm, the Wirthlin Group, conducted daily polls to identify the messages and language that would resonate most with Americans. In the 1992 Emmy award-winning Canadian Broadcasting Corp. documentary “To Sell a War,” a Wirthlin executive explained that their research had determined the most emotionally moving message to be “Saddam Hussein was a madman who had committed atrocities even against his own people and had tremendous power to do further damage, and he needed to be stopped.”

Imperialist in Chief: A Critical History of George H. W. Bush’s War on Iraq

The Bush administration also deceived the public on Iraq’s chemical weapons. The U.S. provided billions in military and economic aid to Iraq during the 1980s, up until Hussein’s invasion of Kuwait. The U.S. was a supporter of Hussein’s regime during the worst of his atrocities, before, during, and after the gassing of Halabja in 1988. The issue barely appeared in the news in the run-up to the Gulf War, but it was more often reported following the invasion of Kuwait, since the gassing played into the United States’ own narrative that it was concerned with human rights in Kuwait. But the U.S. was anything but concerned with the victims of Hussein’s crimes when the deaths occurred – his victims were pawns in a geopolitical power game between the U.S. and Iraq.

Looking at past support for Hussein, one sees U.S. fingerprints all over the Iraqi chemical attacks on the Kurds and against Iranian troops during the Iran-Iraq war. President Bush, working with Senators such as Republican Bob Dole, fought against the instituting of sanctions against Iraq after the Halabja gassing. Furthermore, as reported by the New York Times in 2002, discussions with “senior military officers” revealed that the Reagan administration secretly provided “critical battle planning assistance [to Iraq against Iran] at a time when American intelligence knew that Iraqi commanders would employ chemical weapons in waging the decisive battles of the Iran-Iraq war.” ABC’s Nightline reported in 1992 that the “Reagan/Bush administrations permitted – and frequently encouraged – the flow of money, agricultural credits, dual use technology (allowing Iraq to develop chemical weapons), chemicals, and weapons to Iraq.” In the run-up to the 2003 Iraq war, U.S. officials removed thousands of pages from U.N. reports that documented how the U.S. supplied the components for developing chemical weapons. As the German newspaper Die Tageszetung reported:

“The missing pages [of the U.N. report] implicated twenty-four U.S. based corporations and the successive Ronald Reagan and George Bush Sr. administration in connection with the illegal supplying of Saddam Hussein government with myriad weapons of mass destruction and the training to use them.”

The Bush administration enabled the chemical weapons atrocities committed by Hussein.

The Highway of Death | Amusing Planet

The Highway of Death | Amusing Planet

The day before, Baghdad had radio announced that Iraq’s Foreign Minister had accepted the Soviet ceasefire proposal and had ordered all Iraqi troops to withdraw from Kuwait in compliance with UN Resolution 660. President Bush, however, had refused to believe it and had responded that “there was no evidence to suggest the Iraqi army is withdrawing. In fact, Iraqi units are continuing to fight. . . We continue to prosecute the war.”

The next day, the Iraqi President had himself announced over the radio that the withdraw had indeed begun on two highways and would be completed that day, to which Bush had reacted calling Hussein’s announcement “an outrage” and “a cruel hoax.”

Rather than accept the offer of Iraq to surrender and leave the field of battle, thereby risking a settlement that might not be favorable to the United States, Bush and the U.S. military strategists decided simply to kill as many Iraqis as they possibly could.

The bombing started near midnight. At first US and Canadian jets bombed the front and rear ends of the convoy to prevent it from moving forward or back, then attacked the trapped convoy by repeated bombing. The Commander-in-Chief of the United States Central Command had received instruction from Bush administration to “not to let anybody or anything out of Kuwait City.” Consequently, any vehicle that diverted off of the highway was tracked, hunted and destroyed individually. Even disarmed Iraqi soldiers who surrendered were mowed down by gunfire. Not one Iraqi survived.

42 per cent of world’s coal power stations run at loss: Report, Energy News, ET EnergyWorld

NEW DELHI: Two-fifths of the world’s coal power stations, including in India, were already running at a loss, financial think-tank Carbon Tracker said in a first-of-its-kind study on Friday.

It challenges the need for new coal generation and shows that it makes economic sense to close plants in line with the 2015 Paris Climate Change Agreement.

The New Madrid plant in southeast Missouri, for example, has seen its production of NOx soar to a higher rate than any other U.S. coal plant while burning refined coal. In 2017, the plant’s NOx emission rate was 298 percent higher than it recorded in 2009, before New Madrid started burning clean coal, according to the EPA. During the first quarter of 2018, the rate jumped even further, to seven times the 2009 level.

Associated Electric said the increase in NOx emissions at New Madrid was due in part to the cooperative’s purchasing tradable pollution credits through the U.S. cap-and-trade system. The market-based system sets an overall limit on pollution, and allows power plants that cut their pollution to earn credits that can be stockpiled or sold to other polluters. When large volumes of credits are generated, the cost of buying them can be lower than the cost of running pollution control equipment.

“At times during the last seven years Associated has met compliance with emissions rules by purchasing NOx credits from the cap-and-trade markets, rather than running the control equipment all year,” the electric cooperative said in a statement, which it issued through Goldman Sachs spokesman Michael DuVally.

New Delhi: Fast-growing renewable energy tech is catalysing huge numbers of new jobs — 10.3m at the last count — with massive potential for more. But two-thirds of these jobs so far are in Brazil, China, the EU and the US. Precious few are in emerging economies that desperately need clean energy and well-paid jobs. But there’s a huge obstacle for the green jobs gap — lack of appropriate skills and entrepreneurs. Here’s a look.

Paul Manafort Sells Florida Mansion To His Wife For The Price Of Two Lattes

Paul Manafort Sells Florida Mansion To His Wife For The Price Of Two Lattes

Paul Manafort, President Trump’s former campaign chairman, signed a deed on Oct. 25 in his Virginia prison that transferred his five-bedroom mansion in Florida’s Palm Beach Gardens to his wife for $10. The document, witnessed by two members of his legal team and stamped with the seal of a Virginia notary, was filed five days later with the Palm Beach County Clerk.

“He has stated his goal is to make sure his family is taken care of,” said Barbara McQuade, a former United States attorney who now teaches law at the University of Michigan. “That might have been what he was trying to do.”

As part of that agreement, he pledged to cooperate with Mueller’s investigation and to forfeit homes including his condominium at Trump Tower in New York. Manafort is scheduled to be sentenced on Feb. 8. The government’s charge that Manafort breached his agreement doesn’t change the status of Manafort’s guilty pleas or the forfeitures.

“We should take tribal land away from public treatment,” said Markwayne Mullin, a Republican U.S. Representative from Oklahoma and a Cherokee tribe member who is co-chairing Trump’s Native American Affairs Coalition. “As long as we can do it without unintended consequences, I think we will have broad support around Indian country.”

Trump’s transition team did not respond to multiple requests for comment.

The plan dovetails with Trump’s larger aim of slashing regulation to boost energy production. It could deeply divide Native American leaders, who hold a range of opinions on the proper balance between development and conservation.

The proposed path to deregulated drilling – privatizing reservations – could prove even more divisive. Many Native Americans view such efforts as a violation of tribal self-determination and culture.

“Our spiritual leaders are opposed to the privatization of our lands, which means the commoditization of the nature, water, air we hold sacred,” said Tom Goldtooth, a member of both the Navajo and the Dakota tribes who runs the Indigenous Environmental Network. “Privatization has been the goal since colonization – to strip Native Nations of their sovereignty.”

Oil Tycoon, CIA Chief, President: George H.W. Bush was the Epitome of American Empire – Astute News

Oil Tycoon, CIA Chief, President: George H.W. Bush was the Epitome of American Empire – Astute News

A similar response was given when asked about the downing of Iran Air Flight 655 that was shot down on in July 1988 by US Navy, resulting in the death of 290 people, including 66 children. When asked if the US owed Tehran an apology, Bush shot back: “I will never apologize for the United States — I don’t care what the facts are… I’m not an apologize-for-America kind of guy.”

In conclusion, it seems fair to say that George H.W. Bush was one of those American leaders who was so aligned with the ‘elite’ – since birth – that he was unable to appreciate the cares of ordinary people, both at home, abroad and on the battlefield. This description comes close to explaining Washington’s approach to foreign policy.

Much like the 41st president, Washington feels no compulsion to explain its increasingly erratic behavior to a world that has suffered so much destruction on its behalf. That’s because, in its twisted vision of the world, America believes it is beyond doubt, beyond explanation, beyond apologies. It will continue to stake out its interests in foreign lands and pursue military conflicts as it deems necessary.

Enjoy the creative aspects of creation

Dear Ones, 2019 is when you finally get to choose the colours, pick up the paint brush, decorate, and finally enjoy the beauty of your vision and desired results. The prep work had to be done, and done properly, so the new would be solid and sustainable. Because you have taken the time to do the foundational steps properly, they won’t need to be addressed again, and you can focus on the more joyful aspects of creation. ~Archangel Gabriel through Shelley Young

I Will Not Speak Kindly of the Dead. Bush Was Detestable.

I Will Not Speak Kindly of the Dead. Bush Was Detestable.

Bush the warrior was on a roll during the first two years of his presidency, also escalating the so-called War on Drugs. In 1989 he held a live televised address from the White House holding up a bag of crack seized by police in Washington’s Lafayette Park across Pennsylvania Avenue from the White House. The bust later turned out to be a PR event orchestrated by agents who lured a drug dealer into the park. Citing the high-profile arrest across from the White House, Bush called for “more prisons, more jails, more courts, more prosecutors” while maintaining the racist legal disparities that made Black drug users 12 times as likely to go to jail as white drug users.

5. The “October Surprise”
As president, Bush used his office to obstruct justice and thwart investigations into the criminal activity of the Reagan administration, where he served as vice president. The October surprise refers to allegations that representatives of the Reagan campaign conspired with Iranian leaders prior to the 1980 presidential election. At the time, Iranian students were holding 52 American hostages in Iran, to the embarrassment of the administration of President Jimmy Carter. According to the allegations, Reagan campaign representatives cut a deal with Iran to hold the hostages until after the election, thus making Carter seem weak.

George H.W. Bush Empowered Atrocity Abroad and Fascists at Home

George H.W. Bush Empowered Atrocity Abroad and Fascists at Home

As director of the CIA from 1976 to 1977, Bush Sr. was an integral part of a US government covert terrorism/torture program in South America. Known as Operation Condor by the participants, the program was aimed at destroying left-leaning governments and organizations they feared might come to support the Soviet Union. Forty years later, the horror and chaos unleashed by Operation Condor still plagues that region, and is a fair explanation for why massive caravans of asylum-seeking migrants continue to arrive at the US-Mexico border.

Bush Sr. died and rose again on the warm updraft of early 1990s B-roll footage and gushing headlines from all corners of the country.
Documents that were recently declassified reveal that the “Dirty War” in Argentina, the Augusto Pinochet regime in Chile, Alfredo Stoessner’s dictatorship in Paraguay and other atrocities across the continent were actively supported by the US government. Thousands of leftist peasants, union leaders, teachers, students, priests, and nuns were slaughtered, imprisoned and tortured, and George Herbert Walker Bush went to work every day at CIA headquarters to make sure it happened.

Exploring The Dark Side Of HW Bush ’41’ | Zero Hedge

Exploring The Dark Side Of Bush ’41’ | Zero Hedge

Like the Nazis his father did good business with, Bush wanted a New World Order – and spoke of it lovingly and often. And now it’s upon us, in no small measure because of his machinations and those of his frog-torturing, mass-murdering, war criminal son – who was elevated to the position from which he was able to commit mass murder solely on the juice provided by his connected father.

The entire Bush family is a crime syndicate that puts the Corleones to shame (with George W. Bush playing the role of Fredo).

Bush Sr. – who wasn’t in Dallas on November 22, 1963 and not a CIA officer at the time – was later proved to be both of those things. His leprous fingerprints are all over the termination of the last American president who wasn’t a wholly owned subsidiary of the military industrial complex.

The Bush family was also good friends with another family. The Hinckley family. And then a curious thing happened on March 30, 1981.

And the leprous hands assumed control of the tiller. The chastened Gipper knew where things stood after that.

In due course, the anointed one officially assumed the purple – and we got the No New Taxes his lips told us not to read.

He then worked with Clintigula to stomp Ross Perot, who told us all what was going to happen as a result of the “free trade” deals being stuffed down the throats of the American people like a pate de foi gras goose.

George H. W. Bush: The Man Who Embodied What Putin’s Accused of Being – Astute News

George H. W. Bush: The Man Who Embodied What Putin’s Accused of Being – Astute News

The West loves to fearmonger about President Putin’s intentions by endlessly reminding their audience of the Russian leader’s time in the KGB and later as the head of Russia’s FSB, though Bush Sr.’s decades-long experience rising through the ranks of the CIA to eventually lead it and then go on to being America’s Vice-President and later President is usually overlooked in favor of pretending that it was the voters and not the US’ permanent military, intelligence, and diplomatic bureaucracies (“deep state”) that pave his path to power.

Along the same token, President Putin is wrongfully held accountable by many decision makers in the West for the downing of MH17 over Eastern Ukraine in July 2014 on the unproven basis that he allegedly dispatched BUK anti-air missiles to the local rebels that are blamed for shooting it down, though those same leaders have ‘conveniently’ forgotten that Bush Sr. was Vice President of the US when his country’s navy “accidentally” shot down Iran Air Flight 655 over the Persian Gulf.

Untrustworthy

US Defense Secretary James Mattis recently insulted President Putin by declaring him ‘untrustworthy’ on the supposed basis that the Russian leader “rips up international agreements”, yet Bush Sr. is being held up as a man of honesty unheard of in American politics since the time of “Honest Abe” even though he allegedly broke his promise to Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev about not expanding NATO beyond the border of reunified Germany, an act of duplicity that set into motion far-reaching consequences that continue to destabilize Europe today.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a newly elected US House representative, called out her future colleagues in Congress for paying their low-level staffers salaries below the “living wage” and for employing unpaid interns.

Bush Sr.’s brand of conservatism paved the way for Trump — here’s the real reason right-wingers hate hearing it | Alternet

It’s an understandable urge. Nostalgia is a powerful weapon, and the argument that our current situation is the result of clean break from a more noble past is a powerful one. But it’s also a misleading claim. Trump is the direct result of decades of Republican politicians embracing racial demagoguery and culture war hysterics to create political support that they’d never get by running on an agenda of tax breaks for the rich and deregulation. It’s a matter of historical fact that Bush played a major role in this.

So I took to Twitter to remind my largely liberal following of this, pointing out some historical facts about Bush: He had appointed an accused sexual predator to the Supreme Court, that he had switched from pro-choice to anti-choice out of political expedience, and he had hired Roger Ailes to help run a political campaign that relied heavily on race-baiting. The point, I hoped, was clear: These are allliterally things Trump also did. Bush helped lay the groundwork for Trump’s rise.

George HW Bush Sr. Legacy; The Good, The Bad And The Ugly | A Green Road Journal

The mass media just about universally make George HW Bush look and feel like a saint, who deserves to go to Heaven for all of the good deeds he did. Commendations and support come in from all quarters on the corporate owned mass media, which never says a negative word about any of the people who support the ‘pay to play’ rarified world that the 1 percent like HW Bush live in.

True journalism is about looking at both sides of an issue. A true journalist would look at both sides of the life of a famous person like HW Bush. The mass media will NOT report on both sides, so it is up to AGR to do the job that the corporate owned mass media is supposed to do.

Propaganda is defined as making people believe something that is not true, by repeating it over and over again. Could the constant pro HW Bush ‘news’ that is making him into a saint, be considered propaganda?

Destroyer Zumwalt’s big guns lack ammo, and Navy may just scrap them – Business Insider

Destroyer Zumwalt’s big guns lack ammo, and Navy may just scrap them – Business Insider

The Zumwalt-class destroyer, the largest and most advanced surface combatant in the world, was built to be a silent killer, but the revolutionary warship has faced a string of setbacks during development — including the embarrassing problem that its supergun still does not work right.

The two 155mm guns of the Advanced Gun System on the Zumwalt, intended to strike targets farther than 80 miles away, are ridiculously expensive to fire, as a single Long Range Land Attack Projectile costs almost $1 million. Procurement was shut down two years ago, leaving the Zumwalt without any ammunition to fire.

A fighter get that costs BILLIONS and does not fly. A destroyer that cannot fire it’s guns when needed.

The US military is becoming an albatross tied down with lead weights, so it cannot fly.

Perfect vision

It takes me a while to get a real feel for the prevalent energies of a new year.  Usually I’ll start to receive bits and pieces of information about it as we get closer to it, but I often won’t get the full understanding of a new year’s energy until we have entered it.  But Gabriel has given me this little nugget a couple of times now in private sessions, and it makes me giggle.  He says, “2018 has been a year of complete and total transformation. 2019 is the bridge of increasing clarity about what that transformation means for you, which will lead you to the year 2020, the year of perfect vision.” And then he laughs heartily at his own joke. He cracks me up sometimes.

I know this year has been a tough one in so many ways. I thought you might appreciate a little glimpse of where we are going, and also share a chuckle at Gabriel’s sense of humour. Have a wonderful day!

PS. Unfortunately humour doesn’t always translate well into other languages, and I’ve had people message me to ask me why this is funny.  In North America when you get your eyes examined at the eye doctors, 20/20 vision is considered perfect eyesight. This is why Gabriel is calling 2020 the year of perfect vision. 🙂

Legacy of President George H.W. Bush: War Crimes, Racism

Legacy of President George H.W. Bush: War Crimes, Racism

As Bush campaign director Lee Atwater bragged, “By the time we’re finished, they’re going to wonder whether Willie Horton is Dukakis’s running mate.” Bush himself was quick to dismiss accusations of racism as “absolutely ridiculous,” yet it was clear at the time — even to right-wing Republican operatives such as Roger Stone, now a close ally of Trump — that the ad had crossed a line. “You and George Bush will wear that to your grave,” Stone complained to Atwater. “It’s a racist ad. … You’re going to regret it.”

Stone was right about Atwater, who on his deathbed apologized for using Horton against Dukakis. But Bush never did.

He made a dishonest case for war. Thirteen years before George W. Bush lied about weapons of mass destruction to justify his invasion and occupation of Iraq, his father made his own set of false claims to justify the aerial bombardment of that same country. The first Gulf War, as an investigation by journalist Joshua Holland concluded, “was sold on a mountain of war propaganda.”

For a start, Bush told the American public that Iraq had invaded Kuwait “without provocation or warning.” What he omitted to mention was that the U.S. ambassador to Iraq, April Glaspie, had given an effective green light to Saddam Hussein, telling him in July 1990, a week before his invasion, “[W]e have no opinion on the Arab-Arab conflicts, like your border disagreement with Kuwait.”

She has talked about how we have a choice between centralizing wealth and decentralizing wealth creating systems both in the USA and around the world.

She has talked about about how the top 1% (huge corporations) further increased wealth and power for themselves by concentrating all money and power at the top, under both Republicans such as HW Bush and under Democrats like Clinton and Obama.

She reported that the 1% and huge corporations can be seen as a tapeworm, sucking the life out of the economy and every local community by transferring money and power out of individuals pockets, out of community tax bases and out of the national economy, into their own pockets. This is the largest theft in history, happening in open sight.

The Media Is Erasing George H.W. Bush’s Catastrophic Harm To LGBTQ People | HuffPost

Perhaps that was what Bush “believed,” but it was far from the truth. Bush was as captive to the evangelical right on social issues — and thus a decidedly Republican president — as was his predecessor, Ronald Reagan, who cultivated religious conservatives as a potent political force and bowed to their anti-LGBTQ agenda as the AIDS epidemic mushroomed in the 1980s.

Reagan’s history of callously ignoring the epidemic while thousands died is well-documented. Bush, at the outset of his term, promised a “kinder, gentler” presidency than the man he’d served under as vice president. He even gave a speech on the AIDS epidemic in 1990, which was long on compassion but short on strategy and commitment to funding. During the speech, in fact, Urvashi Vaid, an invited guest and then the executive director of the prominent National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, now the National LGBTQ Task Force, took the unprecedented and heroic act of standing up and holding a sign, “Talk Is Cheap. AIDS Funding Is Not.”

Bush, in the end, bowed to the same extremists Reagan did when it came to AIDS and LGBTQ rights. As The Washington Post noted, Bush allowed evangelicals to mature as a movement within the GOP after Reagan brought them in, rather than pushing back.

Bush did sign the Americans With Disabilities Act, which protected people with disabilities against discrimination, including people with HIV.  And he signed 1990′s Ryan White Care Act — after it passed overwhelmingly in Congress — which federally funded treatment for AIDS for people with little resources. But it took years of work by the indefatigable Democrats Sen. Edward Kennedy and Rep. Henry Waxman, and was too little, too late. By that point, nearly 10 years into the epidemic, 150,000 cases of people with HIV had been reported in the U.S., and 100,000 people had died due to AIDS.
