The legislation defending sex workers rights, also known as the “prostitution law” (“Prostitutionsgesetz”) came into force back in 2002, allowing sex workers to register for state-run health insurance, pensions and unemployment benefits, aiming to improve workers’ social and legal situation. Another prostitution law was enacted by Germany in 2017 calling for prostitutes to register with their local authorities and undergo regular health checkups.

Christian Host: School Prayer Would Have Prevented Florida School Shooting | Michael Stone
Christian radio host Bryan Fischer claims school prayer would have prevented the Florida school shooting.
In an article for the American Family Association, Christian radio host Bryan Fischer argues that God allows school shootings like the one that claimed 17 lives at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, because there is not enough prayer in public schools. Fischer writes:
I suggest we have mass school shootings because we don’t have enough God on our campuses… When tragic school shootings happen, like the one in Florida, everyone sends their “thoughts and prayers” to the families of the victims. But why don’t we pray before these shootings happen instead of waiting until somebody’s dead?
Nation With Crumbling Bridges and Roads Excited to Build Giant Wall | The New Yorker
Harland Dorrinson, the executive director of a Washington-based think tank called the Center for Responsible Immigration, believes that most Americans favor the building of border walls over extravagant pet projects like structurally sound freeway overpasses.
“The estimated cost of a border wall with Mexico is five billion dollars,” he said. “We could easily blow the same amount of money on infrastructure repairs and have nothing to show for it but functioning highways.”
Washington Moves To Ban Personal Vaccine Exemptions – Vaxxter
A Washington state House committee passed a bill Friday that would ban personal vaccine exemptions for measles, mumps and rubella in school children.
The House Bill 1638 received nine Democrat votes, but only one Republican vote, which was enough to move it through the Health Care and Wellness Committee.
Rep. Joe Schmick, R-Colfax, said that he believes vaccines work, however, he also said parents should have the right to decide. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. gave testimony at last week’s emotional public hearing.
Just curious; how many of these politicians got a BRIBE to vote FOR the mandatory vaccines?
Chevron, Halliburton Cheer On US Venezuela Coup
WASHINGTON — For much of the past twenty years, critics of U.S. foreign policy have noted that it is often countries with sizeable oil reserves that most often find themselves the targets of U.S.-backed “humanitarian” interventions aimed at “restoring democracy.” Analysis of the nearly two-decades-long U.S. effort aimed at regime change and “democracy promotion” in Venezuela has long linked such efforts to the fact that the South American country has the world’s largest proven oil reserves.
However, the current U.S. effort to topple the government led by Chavista politician Nicolás Maduro has become notable for the openness of the “coup architects” in admitting that putting American corporations – Chevron and Halliburton chief among them — in charge of Venezuelan oil resources is the driving factor behind this aggressive policy.

Far right hate is spiralling out of control – and politicians aren’t doing enough to stop it | The Independent
Meanwhile, the elevation of Gerard Batten to leader of Ukip heralded its shift to becoming a fully-blown far right party and its adoption of a strongly anti-Muslim agenda.
The shift to the right coincided with a move to street politics, with Batten now a regular speaker on Democratic Football Lads Alliance (DFLA) protests and the appointment of Stephen Lennon as his advisor on grooming gangs.
Polling for our report found that Lennon continues to be the most high profile far-right activist in the UK, with 55 per cent of Britons having heard of him, making him better known than some of our national politicians. Of those, 37 per cent have seen or heard one of his videos on social media. This rises to 57 per cent of 18-24 year olds.
However, people overwhelmingly have a negative impression of Lennon, with just 6 per cent viewing him positively.
In turn, while social media companies are increasingly removing leading far right figures from their platforms, there remains an upward trend in online hate: and Britons are at the heart of it. Five of the 10 far right activists with the biggest social media reaches in the world are British.

BYD Sold Over 28,000 EVs In January — Will China See Over 50% Sales Growth Again This Year? — #CleanTechnica Report | CleanTechnica
With China’s redesigned NEV (New Energy Vehicle) policy having come fully into force in January, many analysts have been wondering how the new rules might reshape the market. Last year, as our sales guru Jose Pontes has recorded, China sales grew from 2017’s ~600,000 to well over 1 million, which looks to likely be a growth rate of around 80% once the dust has settled and the chips are fully counted.
Whilst it is still too early to fully predict China’s EV market growth for the 2019, BYD — the country’s largest NEV maker — just announced January sales figures that already show huge promise, with 28,005 passenger NEVs sold in the 1st month.
