August 6 marks the day the U.S. dropped an atomic bomb named “Little Boy” on the Japanese city of Hiroshima. Three days later, Nagasaki was also the target of an atomic bomb named “Fat Man”. These remain the only wartime nuclear attacks in history. How do those two weapons compare to the most powerful warheads in the world today?
Huawei did not respond to pv magazine‘s request for comments by press time. Another market leader among Chinese inverters makers, Sungrow, was not listed among those inverter makers most likely to be affected by the tariffs. This may be due to the company recently opening a 3 GW inverter factory in India.
GTM Research’s Shiao notes that even at 25%, the system-level impact of any tariffs on inverters will be minor, but that the market disruption caused by several ongoing trade actions may be the real problem. “The bigger challenge is the continued cost uncertainty from all of these trade policies,” explained Shiao.
“The U.S. has AD/CVD tariffs, Section 201, Section 232 on steel (affecting tracker prices) and now these tariffs. Cost projections for solar has never been simple with the base market dynamics and the continued surprise and threat of new tariffs creates unnecessary uncertainty in supply chains and cost planning.”
The Trump administration’s regional policy is based on business-style deal-making that could undermine the stability of this region… The first involves cultivating and maintaining an atmosphere of treat and instability to promote the purchase of arms. This effort has been spearheaded by Donald Trump himself, the world’s most aggressive arms dealer, who has been joined by the leaders of Britain, France, Russia, Germany, China and minor exporters.
US arms exports rose by 25 per cent in 2017, the first year of the Trump administration. Total US exports amount to $1.5 trillion, of which $42 billion is in arms, a relatively modest sum. However, weapons manufacturers are important political players on the US domestic scene. Trump wants to keep them sweet to secure backing for his 2020 re-election bid.
US arms exports amount to one-third of the global arms trade, half are delivered to this region. Saudi Arabia consumes the second largest share of arms globally, India is first. Egypt is second in the region and the UAE third.
Beloved, each day is a new day. Look at life in this way. Each day is a New Bounty to you. No day, as you know days, comes again. Of course, it’s possible to look at each day as a revolving door that you may enter anew. Today is a new day. Welcome it. This new day may not show up with Broadway lights and a drum roll. Nevertheless, something is up to you to see anew.
Rather than thinking of yourself as starting over, think of yourself as starting anew. You might like to live a new day rather than patch up an old one, yes?
You are on the brim of something new and joyous that is awaiting you to discover. Who doesn’t want more joy? Start out on a new journey that you have never embarked on before. You are embracing a new start in life. This is the first time you have set your eyes on this journey. You look around for a starting place. That’s all you are doing. What new discovery will you make? Make it. Make several. You are going somewhere today where you have never gone before. At the very least, you will step somewhere you never stepped before in the very shoes you are wearing this day.
You may love the familiar, and yet who doesn’t love a new beginning as well? May your eyes and your heart alight on something new. Beloveds, life doesn’t exactly allow you to sit in the same chair all your life as if you couldn’t budge.

This is America’s modern “free speech” rally in the era of President Donald Trump. Trollish far-right leaders, like Gibson, plan a battle royale disguised as a celebration of the First Amendment. People come decked out with weapons and armor to fight anti-fascists, and one of two things happens: The two sides beat the living snot out of one another en masse, or police break it up.
At the “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, the former happened, ending with a neo-Nazi allegedly driving a car into a crowd of anti-racist protesters, killing Heyer and injuring 19 others.
On June 30 in Portland, the city declared a riot after police let Patriot Prayer and Proud Boys brawl with anti-fascists in the streets. Some half a dozen people were sent to the hospital after the day’s chaos, one with a brain hemorrhage.
In 1952, the ground combat branch conducted at least two live tests of prototype munitions at the Dugway Proving Ground in Utah. The experimental E-83 “radiological bomb” consisted of more than 70 pounds of tantalum 181 pellets wrapped around a high explosive charge, as technicians explained in one report:
The agent was composed of approximately 75 percent tantalum dust … and 25 percent fine copper wire to provide effective binding. The mixture was compressed … in cylindrical pellets. Each pellet had a diameter of 5/16 inch and a height of 5/16 inch.
The pellets were placed in aluminum tubes at the Chemical and Radiological Laboratories [in Maryland] and shipped to Oak Ridge, Tennessee, where the material was irradiated for a time calculated to produce an activation level of three to five curies per pound. The tubes were shipped to Dugway Proving Ground in lead-lined iron containers.
Dear Ones, be easy with yourselves. Know that you are loved. Do something you enjoy. Practice gratitude. Breathe. Trust. Businesses and public agencies are buying more clean energy than ever before.
Companies and agencies, excluding utilities, agreed to buy 7.2 gigawatts of clean energy worldwide so far this year, already shattering the record of 5.4 gigawatts for all of 2017, according to a report Friday from Bloomberg NEF.
The surge comes as communities, nations and companies set clean-power targets, part of a growing global effort to curb climate change. The growth shows that the renewables boom has plenty of room to grow. In some markets, renewable energy is the cheapest source of electricity.
A utility that serves Eastern Kentucky and burns coal to produce electricity has sold $17.6 million worth of coal it didn’t need, offering yet another example of how the relatively low cost of natural gas has undermined the region’s economy.
The coal was to be used at a power plant in West Virginia co-owned by Kentucky Power, which has 168,000 customers in 20 Eastern Kentucky counties. The plant, though, could not generate electricity as cheaply as competing facilities fueled by natural gas, according to information filed with the Kentucky Public Service Commission.
As a result, the regional power-grid manager was not ordering electricity as often from Kentucky Power’s Mitchell plant. That meant coal the company had to buy under a long-term contract was piling up.
The 64-megawatt Kennedy Energy Park near Hughenden, 290 kilometres south-west of Townsville, will combine 12 wind turbines, 55,000 solar panels and 4 megawatt-hours of battery storage, to pump an average of 50MW into the power grid at any time.
Developer Windlab’s construction manager Martin Vries said the complementary sources of power generation provided a blueprint for the future of electricity in the region.
“Hughenden is a unique area in the region where there is an abundance of sun during the day, with 330 days of sunshine,” he said.
“In addition, there is a high amount of wind resource in the afternoon and in the night, when the solar farm dims and doesn’t produce anything.”
TOKYO Nissan Motor Co plans to sell its battery business to Chinese renewable energy operator Envision Group for an undisclosed amount.
Nissan secured the deal after announcing last month it had canceled a plan to sell the subsidiary, Automotive Energy Supply Corp, and other battery operations to GSR Capital, citing lack of necessary funds on the part of the Chinese investment firm.
Nissan hopes to complete the sale by next March.
Twitter did not respond to a request for comment. But the company has said it identified and challenged close to 10 million suspected bot or spam accounts in May, up from 3.2 million last September. It’s also trying to weed out “trolls,” or accounts that harass other users, pick fights or tweet material that’s considered inflammatory.
Tomasieski and her conservative friends use so-called Twitter “rooms” — which operate using the group messaging function — to amplify their voices.
She participates in about 10 rooms, each with 50 members who are invited in once they hit a certain number of followers. That number varies, but “newbies” might have around 3,000, Tomasieski says. Some have far more.
Everyone in the room tweets their own material and also retweets everyone else’s. So a tweet that Tomasieski sends may be seen by her roughly 51,000 followers, but then be retweeted by dozens more people, each of whom may have 50,000 or more followers.
The UK’s Big Six energy firm’s market share of domestic customers is dwindling and fell to a record low in 2017, as smaller rivals lured customers away with cheaper deals. The six largest electricity suppliers’ market share dropped to 78% at the end of 2017 from 85% a year earlier.
The UK’s energy firms are under pressure to reduce bills. Prime Minister Theresa May in February 2018 introduced new legislation to force the regulator, Ofgem, to cap what she called “rip-off” prices until 2020, after which Ofgem would decide whether it should be extended on an annual basis until its expiry in 2023.
Six energy suppliers have monopolised the UK energy market since the gas and electricity networks were privatised, but over 60 smaller rivals have recently emerged as effective competition. The UK electricity network was privatised in 1990, allowing households to choose suppliers.

However, a large-scale national study suggests that even moderate use of marijuana is less harmful to users’ lungs than exposure to tobacco, even though the two substances contain at least some of the same components.
The study also offered up a nugget that likely will surprise many: Evidence points to slight increases in lung airflow rates and increases in lung volume from occasional marijuana use. Air flow is the amount of air someone can blow out of their lungs one second after taking the deepest breath possible. The volume measure is the total amount of air blown out once someone has taken the deepest breath possible.
This comprehensive study, led by UCSF and University of Alabama at Birmingham, and published in the Journal of American Medical Association (JAMA). Researchers collected data from more than 5,000 U.S. adults for more than 20 years, and analyzed the relationship between current and lifetime exposure to marijuana and pulmonary function. The Coronary Artery Risk Development in Young Adults (CARDIA) study collected medical data from 5,115 men and women in four U.S. cities from 1985 to 2006.
“This is a big movement on the right. See, we don’t hear about these things because we’re not crazy,” Maher said near the end of his monologue. “Q is a person—a member of the ‘deep state,’ way high up in the ‘deep state’—but now he’s turning on them, and he’s revealing that the world is run by a giant pedophile ring. Really. Every president since Reagan has been part of it.”
“You know who’s a pedophile? Tom Hanks. Steven Spielberg,” Maher revealed. “And who’s gonna stop this? Trump. Because who’s more qualified to stop pedophilia than the creep who used to walk in on Miss Teen USA pageants?”

Fascism is defined as corporate ownership and control of a government. Huge globalist corporations today own and control the US government. Having a ‘strong military’ which is run by huge globalist corporations only makes the fascism worse, not better.

It takes around 10 seconds for the fireball from a nuclear explosion to reach its maximum size, but the effects last for decades and span across generations. Five to six years after the bombings, incidence of leukaemia increased noticeably among survivors. After about a decade, survivors began suffering from thyroid, breast, lung and other cancers at higher than normal rates. Pregnant women exposed to the bombings experienced higher rates of miscarriage and deaths among their infants; their children were more likely to have intellectual disabilities, impaired growth and an increased risk of developing cancer. And for all survivors, cancers related to radiation exposure still continues to increase throughout their lifespan, even to this day, seven decades later.
California wine lovers will get to test that theory, after researchers at the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) discovered cesium-137 in several golden-state vintages. The researchers tested 18 bottles of California rosé and cabernet sauvignon from 2009 onward – finding increased levels of the radioactive isotope in bottles produced after the Fukushima disaster. The cabernets had double the radiation of the other wine, according to the study.
“We can measure some radioactive level that is much higher than the usual level,” said Michael Pravikoff, a physicist at a French research center who worked on the study.

Give up looking backwards. Forsooth dregs. Never were dregs meant for you. I will not hear of such a thing. Backward glances are forbidden to you. Do you get My drift? Enlightenment is for you. Bowing down to adversity is not.
The past, as you may have perceived it, is to be disbanded once and for all. Say no more: “God, look at what sorrow befell me.”
No, you are to say: “God, what boons are upon me?”
Now, you are to say: “What lighted turn in the road do I now take? No more muddy roads for sure. What is my flight plan? Now I fly and fly higher yet.
“Blue Skies for me, and nothing less. Why would I think of less? Now I do not even consider old propositions. I am at the helm of my life, and I choose to fly high.
“Of course I do. I accept all that Heaven offers to me as I stand tall. For Heaven’s sake, I hold myself in golden light and nothing less. This is the troth that God holds out and asks me to accept.
“God made me a high-stepper. He gave me dreams to foresee. He gave me dreams to reach. He gave me dreams to surpass. He asks me to dream His dreams and alight on them. Of course, I say Yes, beyond a doubt. It is a forward-moving path I am on and I accept.”
An asteroid has exploded in a ‘fireball’ near an American early warning radar base, prompting a top scientist to reflect on how a similar ‘freak’ incident could cause nuclear war.
The meteor was only detected after it detonated close to Thule Airbase, Greenland, on July 25.
A prominent nuclear expert later discussed how the US military could have mistaken the explosion for a Russian ‘first strike’ and launched up to 2,000 nukes in retaliation.
New Mexico powerless to stop N.J. company’s nuclear waste plans | NJ.com
Sen. Jeff Steinborn, D-Las Cruces, said Wednesday that New Mexico should have a say about the proposal and that he was disappointed in the attorney general’s opinion, The Hobbs News-Sun reports .
“It’s troubling that a project of this magnitude with this much exposure to the state — I mean exposure in the sense of the hazardous materials involved and long-term ramifications of it being here — that our state would not have a say in being able to approve it or not,” said Steinborn, who chairs interim Radioactive and Hazardous Materials Committee.
Balderas cited the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, the Nuclear Waste Policy Act of 1982 and two court cases clearly establishing two principles.
“(F)irst, that the NRC has the statutory authority to license and regulate consolidated interim nuclear waste storage facilities, and secondly, that the comprehensiveness of that federal regulatory scheme pre-empts virtually any state involvement,” Balderas wrote.
Healthy people exposed to even low levels of air pollution over a handful of years developed enlarged heart chambers, a common precursor to heart failure, a new study indicates.
While previous research has established a firm link between air pollution and higher risks of heart disease and heart-related death, the U.K.-based study published Aug. 3 in the American Heart Association journal Circulation provides clues about how such damage gets started.
“What we found is that if you were well exposed to air pollution even at relatively low levels, we saw a larger size of the heart-pumping chamber. These are the types of changes we see in people who are developing heart failure,” said Dr. Nay Aung, a cardiologist and the lead author of the report.

Breastfeeding In Public Finally Legal In All 50 States! | Care2 Causes
Breastfeeding in public places is finally legal in all 50 states, just now, in the year of our lord Beyoncé 2018. As with all things relating to women’s bodies, people have a lot of feelings.
Recently, Utah and Idaho passed laws legalizing breastfeeding in public, making them the last two states to enact such laws. Though the legislation is clearly on the right side of history—and literally every other state had done so already—the change did not come without a fight and a whole lot of Puritan outrage, particularly among male lawmakers.
In Utah, Republican Rep. Curt Webb complained during a hearing that the law could lead to immodesty.
“This seems to say you don’t have to cover up at all,” he told the Salt Lake City Tribune. “I’m not comfortable with that, I’m just not. It’s really in your face.”
From 2016 to 2017, the National Domestic Violence Hotline recorded a 74 percent increase in calls from domestic violence victims seeking help for abuse involving guns.
CEO Katie Ray-Jones called it a “sharp increase” which demonstrates the “many ways in which abuse plays out in a relationship where domestic violence is present.”
This increase is despite laws preventing domestic abusers from owning guns. The problem, though, is not that criminals simply ignore the law, rather that the laws we have aren’t strong enough.
Israeli forces have seized a second boat carrying a relief cargo to the besieged Gaza Strip.
The vessel – Freedom for Gaza – was sailing under the Swedish flag and carrying 12 people.
It was taken to the Israeli port of Ashdod, the Israeli military said in a statement, adding the people on board were taken for “further inquiry.”
The incident occurred after the Israeli navy seized a Norwegian-flagged boat carrying medical supplies to the coastal sliver of land last Sunday.
The NRA said in a recent court filing that New York state’s campaign to push insurance companies and banks to cut ties with the organization had already cost it “tens of millions of dollars” this year and could ultimately make it “unable to exist as a not-for-profit or pursue its advocacy mission.”
Unless the courts step in and stop New York, “the NRA will suffer irrevocable loss and irreparable harm if it is unable to acquire insurance or other financial services,” the group said in a complaint submitted in federal court on July 20.

Canola oil has practically taken over as the food processing industry’s oil of choice. Whether it’s mayonnaise, chips, salad dressings and other snack foods, canola oil is usually the first, second or third ingredient on the list. Unfortunately, the health dangers of canola oil are far beyond what we’ve been led to believe.
So if there aren’t any actual health reasons to use it, why would it be so widely utilized throughout the processed food industry? As with most reasons certain ingredients are used over others – the price. Canola oil is extremely inexpensive to grow and harvest. Being a genetically modified food, insects won’t go near canola oil, making it incredibly easy to grow.
Almost all canola oil is produced from genetically modified crops. More than 90% of all canola oil is produced from genetically engineered crops. While genetic modification was successful at lowering the erucic acid content, it also increased the amount of oleic acid.
Oleic acid has been linked to a number of health concerns such as:
– Retarded growth (banned in infant formulas)
– Abnormalities in blood platelets
– Damage from free radicals
– Increased risk of developing certain cancer types
Genetically engineered foods also pose some very serious health concerns like allergic reactions, immuno-suppression, toxicity, and loss of nutrition through the foods we eat (4).

LONDON — Global markets were getting hammered Wednesday as the trade war between the Trump administration and China intensified, with fears also rising that President Donald Trump could pull the US out of the NATO military alliance.
The US administration late on Tuesday released a huge list of new Chinese products subject to tariffs.
The US said it would be introducing tariffs of 10% to $200 billion worth of Chinese goods including seafood and other fresh goods, according to the list released by US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer. He cited China’s retaliation to new tariffs already imposed by the US on $34 billion worth of Chinese goods.
Wife of former Marine to be deported to Mexico Friday, after 20 years in U.S. – CBS News
Her mother, Alejandra Juarez, was finally leaving for Mexico, rather than be sent off in handcuffs, after exhausting all her options to stop her deportation.
“My mom is a good person. She’s not a criminal,” Pamela said, cursing at the immigration agency before her mother checked in for her flight from Orlando International Airport.
Alejandra and Temo Juarez, a naturalized citizen who runs a roofing business, quietly raised Pamela and their 8-year-old daughter Estela in the central Florida town of Davenport until a 2013 traffic stop exposed her legal status.
Afterward, she regularly checked in with U.S. Immigration and Customs officials, which typically went after higher-priority targets like people with criminal records. Temo didn’t figure his vote for President Donald Trump would affect them personally. That was before the enforcement of Mr. Trump’s “zero tolerance” policy toward illegal immigrants.
There are another 11,000 spouses of US Military veterans just like this, who are also going to be deported..

To survive, a puppy has to be licked by its mother. Otherwise, a puppy does not know of its existence. An exchange is essential. Every sentient being requires a welcome to Earth. In Heaven, there is only welcome. In Heaven, unwelcome is unknown.
Of course, to be welcomed on Earth is of the utmost importance. No Being is to be overlooked. No Being is to be cast aside. You understand that remaining unnoticed is inhuman. Life exists to be noticed. This is what is meant by Love. Human Beingness must be noted and nourished. To be loved is to be noticed. Beingness also has to be fed. Abandonment in not an option. Not in My eyes. Eyes must meet. Souls must touch. Hearts must breathe in and breathe out and be intoned.
Teaching and learning are exchanged through love. At the very least, love. Love given in school can be for a subject taught. There inevitably has to be an exchange of love. Two sets of eyes have to exchange their light. Be sure now. Even to a stranger on the path, venture love. Reveal though your passage in life that love exists.
During his previous visit to Hungary, Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, met with leaders from the so-called Visegrad-4, which includes Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
On that visit, Netanyahu hoped to find new channels of support within the EU, through exerting pressure by using his newfound allies in these countries. In an audio-recording obtained by Reuters, Netanyahu chastised Europe for daring to criticize Israel’s dismal human rights record, illegal settlement policies and military occupation.
“I think Europe has to decide whether it wants to live and thrive or it wants to shrivel and disappear,” he said.
Netanyahu’s arrogance is unbridled, especially as the censure is emanating from a leader who represents an ethno-nationalist state, which has just recently canceled any reference to “democracy” in its newly-issued Jewish Nation-state Law.
The new “basic law” defines Israel by an ethnic identity, not any democratic values. Netanyahu is now closer to Europe’s far-right racist groups than to any liberal democratic model, thus the ongoing flirting between Israel and these groups.
The extreme weather events of the summer of 2018 are not just symptoms of climate breakdown.
They are early stage warnings of a protracted process of civilisational collapse as industrial societies face some of the opening symptoms of having already breached the limits of a safe climate.
These events are a taste of things to come on a business-as-usual trajectory.
They elicit a sense of how industrial civilisational systems are vulnerable to collapse due to escalating climate impacts. And they highlight the urgent necessity of communities everywhere undertaking steps to achieve a systemic civilisational transition toward post-capitalist systems which can survive and prosper after fossil fuels.
Does peace amount to so many questions being erased? Who says that life is a puzzle that must be answered right away? Why wouldn’t it be all right to be Heavenbound and this to be enough? I say Heaven is undeniable. I say Heaven is inevitable.
No one is overlooked in Heaven. You will land lightly in Heaven and be reassured once and for all. You will return Home and be welcomed as ever. You will bounce on air. You will rise to all the heights imaginable. You are to the manor born. You land exactly where you are supposed to. Start smiling now. There are no tests you are bound to take. Flowers bloom as ever. Petals open. All is well in Heaven and on Earth, and you are as fine as any star that twinkles in the Heavens.
You speculate whirlwinds and pockets with holes in them and bedazzled hearts hoping above hope for something not quite yet discernible. You ask yourself why it all matters so much that you must carry hope even at the same time you hang on to the idea that all is lost. Beloved, truth is endless. Truth cannot be lost.
All returns to its origin. It isn’t that hope springs eternal. It is life that springs eternal. It’s okay to jump into life. Dive in. The swimming is fine. Stars sparkle. There is room for all. No one is denied. All are welcomed. There is no need for you to worry about your having to be protected.
According to Rangwala, the British intelligence document was fake. It had not been prepared by British intelligence. It was copied and pasted from the internet by members of Tony Blair’s staff:
The Downing Street authors state they drew “upon a number of sources, including intelligence material” (p.1, first sentence). In fact, they copied material from at least three different authors and gave no credit to them. Indeed, they plagiarized, directly cutting and pasting or near quoting.
A close textual analysis suggests that the UK authors had little access to first-hand intelligence sources and instead based their work on academic papers, which they selectively distorted. Some of the papers used were considerably out of date. This leads the reader to wonder about the reliability and veracity of the Downing Street document.
It was a fake document prepared on the instructions of prime minister Blair with a view to building a “credible” justification to wage war on Iraq. And the media failed to report the Big Lie.
Dear Ones, the elements of faith and trust, when employed together, create acceptance and allowing. Acceptance and allowing create peace and patience. So many of you have the desire to experience less resistance and more peace in your lives. We suggest you understand the foundational energies that are essential to those elements and focus on them first, which will open the door to what you seek. Simply put, deepen your faith and trust and peace and patience will naturally follow. ~Archangel Gabriel through Shelley Young
(CD) — As some of America’s most prominent corporate media outlets continued their lengthy blackout of Yemen’s deepening humanitarian crisis—a catastrophe made possible by the U.S. government’s enthusiastic military and political support for Saudi Arabia’s years-long assault on the starving nation—the Saudi-led coalition on Thursday reportedly killed as many as 50 people and injured dozens more in a massive bombing campaign targeting the Yemeni port city of Hodeidah.
Horrific images, videos, and witness accounts of the bombing quickly began circulating on social media after airstrikes pounded the vicinity of al-Thawra, Hodeidah’s main public hospital.
“It is a very painful sight, parts of bodies are everywhere around the hospital gates,” an eyewitness told Reuters, as Yemeni journalists and American activists intensified calls for the U.S. media to stop looking the other way while the Trump administration fuels the ongoing massacre of Yemenis with weaponry and intelligence.
The allegations against the Southwest Key youth care worker are the latest in a series of serious accusations of sexual abuse inside the government’s immigrant youth shelters.
(PP) — A youth care worker for Southwest Key has been charged with 11 sex offenses after authorities accused him of molesting at least eight unaccompanied immigrant boys over nearly a year at one of the company’s shelters in Mesa, Arizona, federal court records show.
The allegations against Levian D. Pacheco, who is HIV-positive, include that he performed oral sex on two of the teenagers and tried to force one of them to penetrate him anally. The other six teens — all between 15 and 17 — said Pacheco had groped them through their clothing. All of the incidents are alleged to have taken place between August 2016 and July 2017, according to a court filing last week that laid out the government’s case.
The case, initially investigated by local police, is now proceeding through U.S. District Court in Phoenix. Pacheco had worked at Southwest Key’s Casa Kokopelli shelter, one of eight the company runs in Arizona, since May 2016.
In June, we reported that Cochrane’s sources of funding—agencies and foundations that are unwilling to brook any questions about vaccine safety—raise reasonable doubts about Cochrane’s conflicts of interest and ability to remain independent from its funders’ agendas.
Now, researchers affiliated with one of Cochrane’s regional member centers (the Nordic Cochrane Centre) and with the Oxford-based Centre for Evidence Based Medicine (OCEBM) have come out with an exhaustive critique of Cochrane’s HPV review, published in BMJ Evidence-Based Medicine.
Not mincing their words, the authors state:
We believe that the Cochrane [HPV vaccine] review does not meet the standards for Cochrane reviews or the needs of the citizens or healthcare providers that consult Cochrane reviews to make ‘Informed decisions,’ which…is part of Cochrane’s motto. [emphasis added].
The Nordic Cochrane Centre and OCEBM authors dress down Cochrane’s review on seven counts:
The Cochrane review missed nearly half of the eligible trials.
No included trial in the Cochrane review used a placebo comparator.
The included HPV vaccine trials used composite surrogate outcomes for cervical cancer.
The Cochrane review incompletely assessed serious and systemic adverse events.
The Cochrane review did not assess HPV vaccine-related safety signals.
The review ignored industry trial funding and other conflicts of interest.
Cochrane’s public relations of the review were uncritical.
Prominent victims of Mexico’s conflict include 136 politicians and political operatives assassinated while campaigning for the July 2018 general election, 43 student teachers who disappeared in the southern Mexican state of Guerrero in 2014 and the eight Mexican journalists killed so far this year.
In places where the violence has been highly concentrated, residents have spent the past decade taking precautions, coping with fear and processing tragedy.
Now, new data from the northern Mexican state of Chihuahua reveals the dangerous mental health toll of living with extreme, chronic violence: suicides.

According to Jared Kushner and other hard line Zionists, the Palestinian people don’t exist. Ever since they ethnically cleansed the majority of Palestinians, the Israelis have been hoping that they will just go away. They look out on Galilee, the West Bank, Gaza, Jordan, and Lebanon, and ask, “why are you still here?” as though the Palestinians were a houseboy in their mansion that they had fired last week.
According to Foreign Policy, Kushner has bought into a theory that Palestinian identity, and Palestinian desire to return home to what is now Israel, have been artificially kept alive because millions of Palestinians are recognized by the UN as refugees. And the UN Relief and Works Agency provides schooling, vocational training, and sometimes makeshift housing to these families that the Israelis forced into tents in the wilderness.
So if you wanted to wipe Palestine off the map, you’d want to decertify the Palestinians as refugees and destroy UNRWA.
Without that infrastructure, the spoiled rich bigot Kushner thinks, why the Palestinians will fade away and stop asking to go home.
Infuriated by a scathing United Nations report estimating that over 18 million Americans are living in “extreme poverty” and accusing the Trump administration of “deliberately” making such destitution worse with its tax cuts for the rich, the White House insisted in its June response to the U.N. analysis that the United States is overflowing with “prosperity” and that claims of widespread poverty are “exaggerated.”
“This is not as dramatic as Trump’s tweets or bald-faced lies at press briefings. But in a way it is far more insidious; the contempt for facts is pervasive and maddening.”
But internal State Department emails and documents obtained by Foreign Policy and the non-profit journalism website Coda Story show that the Trump administration ignored advice of White House economic analysts and knowingly lied to the public about the severity of American poverty, which the U.N. Special Rapporteur on Extreme Poverty and Human Rights Philip Alston described as “shocking.”
Foreign Policy reported on Thursday that officials who were consulted last-minute on a draft of the White House’s rebuttal of the U.N. findings “questioned the accuracy of the data the administration was citing.”
Despite the fact that the U.N. analysis cited government statistics to bolster its claims about poverty in America, the Trump administration opted to draw from a report by the right-wing Heritage Foundation, which concluded that 250,000 Americans are living in extreme poverty—a stark contrast to the U.N.’s conclusion that the correct number is 18.25 million.
After misleading parents into waiving their right to be reunited with their children—and then deporting them—the Trump administration claimed on Thursday that if immigrant rights groups want families reunited, they should now be responsible for finding the parents who have been sent back to their home countries.
The Department of Justice (DOJ), which is being sued by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) over the ongoing family separation crisis begun by the Trump administration in May, said in a court filing that the ACLU should find the parents who are now back in their home countries across Central America.
“The Trump administration chose to rip families apart as a matter of policy to punish people for seeking asylum.” —ACLU
“Plaintiffs’ counsel should use their considerable resources and their network of law firms, NGOs, volunteers, and others, together with the information that defendants have provided (or will soon provide), to establish contact with possible class members in foreign countries,” the DOJ wrote.
