40% Of China’s Coal Plants Are Losing Money, Reports Carbon Tracker | CleanTechnica

The new methodology has been put to use to ascertain China’s exposure to fossil fuel-related losses in a new report published by Carbon Tracker, entitled Nowhere to hide: Using satellite imagery to estimate the utilisation of fossil fuel power plants. The report shows that, with over 1,000 operating coal plants, 40% of China’s coal-fired power plants are already losing money, a figure which could rise to 95% by 2040. Carbon Tracker has not been able to provide this report to Chinese state-owned power companies — not unsurprising, given the difficulty for outsiders to do so in China — but the think tank is planning a Chinese roadshow for 2019 where they will seek to work with local partners to disseminate their research to companies.

“Satellite imagery coupled with data science offers a powerful response to those governments and asset owners who are unwilling or unable to disclose timely and accurate data,” explained Matt Gray, head of power and utilities at Carbon Tracker. “If China fails to phase-out coal power, the world will fail to contain dangerous climate change. Our analysis proves it is in China’s own financial interests to retire coal in a manner consistent with the Paris Agreement.”

The report also highlights how it would be cheaper to build new onshore wind farms than continuing to operate their coal fleet by 2021, while new solar PV would be cheaper to run than coal by 2025. For example, China’s National Energy Investment Group, the world’s largest power company, is at risk of losing $66 billion in stranded assets if it pursues business as usual policies, risking half its total capital. Two other companies — Guangdong Yudean Group and Zhejiang Energy Group — are at risk of losing more than their total capital in stranded assets ($22 billion and $26 billion respectively).  In the end, according to Carbon Tracker, China’s coal power owners could save $389 billion by closing coal plants as compared to continuing business as usual.

AGR; Coal is on the way out GLOBALLY, both in the US, China and other countries. Renewable energy is now cheaper than oil, gas, coal and nuclear both upfront and long term.

Coal is way more expensive than they claim, as costs of pollution, global warming and healthcare are ‘externalized’, forcing taxpayers to pick up the tab.

You Are Inspired on Earth as It Is in Heaven | Heavenletters

Beloved, moving right along, consider life on Earth a fabulous menu that I created and put together. You are the creative chef who prepares the meal and the server who serves the food effortlessly and joyously to the throngs who are eager to be served.

This is like sailing on a smooth sea. There is nothing to it. There are the hungry throngs. It takes no effort to be hungry. It happens naturally. To pass on the food also happens naturally. I am thinking along the lines of serving and/or being served. Life may be compared to a serving line.

And, yes, there are also those who clean up later. Cycles are repeated.

Living isn’t meant to be complicated or arduous. All prepare, serve, and are the served. Humanity wears all the hats. There are no class distinctions. There is Oneness.

Oneness seems to be a big topic, yet it isn’t exactly a topic. Oneness is a given. It could be said that Oneness is My pride and joy. It could also be said that Oneness is My humble love and your constant realization – the summit of Our Oneness.

A dictionary defines inspire as: To guide by divine influence, instruct and infuse with spiritual or divine knowledge.

Fear of receiving help

Abundance definition

Trinity Esoterics | Daily Message ~ Saturday October 13, 2018

Some of you don’t like to accept help because you are afraid it comes with strings attached. There is a difference between someone giving with a hidden agenda and someone giving to experience the joy of service. You might consider one 3D assistance that comes from a place of separation, lack, and a desire to serve the one, and the other 5D assistance that comes from a place of unity, abundance, and a desire to serve the whole.

The first might give resentfully or in order to get something back, while the other simply gives because it allows them an opportunity to experience loving service as an expression of self. If you stop and feel into it, you will always know the difference. Don’t let those old experiences with people who weren’t helping from the heart lead you to deny the loving supports that do exist for you from sources whose greatest joy is to assist and it is absolutely safe for you to receive from. ~Archangel Gabriel through Shelley Young

See you in court: Civil rights groups sue Georgia secretary of state over voter suppression

Kemp is enforcing an overtly biased “exact match” policy. In short, officials place a hold on every voter registration submission that doesn’t perfectly match the person’s other official records down to the letter, digit, apostrophe, or hyphen. It’s then on the voter to remedy the error(s) within 26 months or else start the application process anew. Officials also pause the applications of potential “non-citizens,” identified using faulty and outdated data. Eighty percent of the 53,000 Georgians whose applications have been paused are people of color.

Democratic gubernatorial nominee Stacey Abrams has called on Kemp to resign, and rightly so. It beggars the imagination that anyone could miss Kemp’s conflict of interest.

Under state law, voters whose registration is “pending” should still be able to vote on Election Day so long as they produce ID. Question is, will all the poll workers know that? Most reporting has suggested that voters in limbo have to cast provisional ballots. The difference between a regular and a provisional ballot is enormous: Provisional ballots are less likely to be counted.

U.S. Budget Deficit Swells to $898 Billion, Topping Forecast – Bloomberg

The U.S. budget deficit widened to $898 billion in the 11 months through August, exceeding the Congressional Budget Office’s forecast for the first full fiscal year under the Trump presidency.

The budget deficit rose by a third in the October to August period from $674 billion in the same timeframe a year earlier, the Treasury Department said in a statement on Thursday. Spending rose by 7 percent to $3.88 trillion, outpacing revenue gains of 1 percent to $2.99 trillion. Revenue from corporations fell to $163 billion, down by $71 billion from a year ago.

The U.S. fiscal gap has continued to balloon under President Donald Trump, raising concerns the country’s debt load, now at $21.5 trillion, is growing out of control. A combination of Republican tax cuts enacted this year — that will add up to about $1.5 trillion over a decade — and increased government spending are adding to budget strains.

via U.S. Budget Deficit Swells to $898 Billion, Topping Forecast – Bloomberg

Remember when Trump promised to balance the budget in ONE YEAR?

Guess what happens why you give huge tax cuts to corporations and the 1 percent? HUGE INCREASES IN THE DEBT LOAD.

Now add an increase in the interest rates on US bonds, and the amount paid to repay that debt increases by HUGE amounts over time, getting worse and worse. This forces cuts in social programs as the debt eats up more and more of the little revenue coming in.

Buckle up snowflakes.. This is going to be a wild ride.

Here’s How Trump’s Reckless ‘America First’ Policies Could Be Setting Up US Consumers for a Nasty Shock | Alternet

Because since the fall of the Soviet Union (and the corresponding end of the Cold War), the expansion of globalization has largely imparted a deflationary bias to the global economy via “synthetic immigration.” If that term is foreign to you, here’s what it means: a mispriced dollar/yuan exchange rate made the price of labor in China so low for U.S. corporations that the price of American labor looked like a luxury item, and they moved their manufacturing operations to China. China knowingly undervalued its currency to get this process rolling, and over time, it produced a big economic contraction in the U.S. and world economy, the extent of which is literally papered over or hidden by a huge number of bubbles in the world financial markets. Advances in capital mobility, globalization, telecommunications, shipping and low fuel prices made all of this possible.

The rise of a trade battle between Trump and China, plus the long-term outcomes from the reconfigured USMCA, have the potential to reshape long-term trade patterns and the world’s capital and financial markets—and not necessarily smoothly; most of all because the total result could be more politically volatile as well as being more inflationary: a smaller, more divided world economy, competing regional trade blocs, higher prices for consumers. How will they pay for these more expensive things?

To the extent that globalization is impeded by increasing protectionism, that deflationary export channel from China is also disrupted. That could mean higher prices for American consumers, even allowing for the relatively muted pressures reflected in the September CPI. It’s unclear if inflation rates will gobble that up, but on current trends, that remains possible, especially if the trade war persists. Tariffs and other protectionist measures may well produce more domestic jobs, but at the cost of consumers likely having to face higher prices.

The US is going to be squeezed between the vice of inflation (higher prices) and higher loan rates, but hourly wage rates kept at an artificially  low level, all of which cause the economy to contract. Buckle up.

The southern mountain caribou is on the verge of disappearing from the American landscape — and that’s a dire warning to Canada, scientists say.

Last week, biologists flew over southern British Columbia to count the number of caribou in the last remaining herd that migrates south from B.C. to the U.S. — the South Selkirk herd — and what they saw stunned them.

B.C.’s caribou herd declined by more than 15 per cent over one year and the only herd that ranges into the contiguous U.S. is down to just three animals.

(CNN)High up in the Eastern Himalayas is one of the greenest countries in the world. While many nations are struggling to reduce their carbon emissions, the Kingdom of Bhutan is already carbon negative: it takes more greenhouse gasses from the atmosphere than it emits.

Sandwiched between China and India, Bhutan spans approximately 14,800 square miles — roughly the size of Maryland. Its vast woodlands cover approximately 70% of the country and act as a natural carbon sink, absorbing carbon dioxide.
As a result, according to its own figures, this nation of around 750,000 people removes nearly three times as much CO2 as it produces.

Stacey Abrams Has a Plan in Place to Combat Voter Suppression

Even though Kemp is in a close election with Democrat Stacey Abrams for the governor’s mansion in Georgia, he’s still allowed to oversee the election as secretary of state (Abrams’ camp just called for Kemp to resign as secretary of state). Exact Match allows the state to purge voter registrations if the voter registration has any differences—no matter how small—from other state documents. For example, if your gun license says “Kanye West” and your voter registration says “Kanye Omari West” and your marriage license says “Kanye O. West,” even if everything from Social Security numbers to tax forms and previous overrated albums all lineup, Brian Kemp will snatch your application.

This process was already settled by the courts in 2017, because over 63 percent of the voter registrations that were canceled were from minority applicants. Strangely, over 70 percent of those who have been removed from the rolls are African American. Yet, thanks to the Republican-dominated state legislature in Georgia, Exact Match is back, and over 53,000 voter registrations are on hold just under 30 days before the election.

BNEF: Cheaper Battery Storage Means Bright Future For Solar And Wind – Solar Industry

This year’s outlook is the first to highlight the huge impact that falling battery costs will have on the electricity mix over the coming decades, says BNEF, which predicts that lithium-ion battery prices, already down by nearly 80% per megawatt-hour since 2010, will continue to tumble as electric vehicle manufacturing builds up through the 2020s.

“We see $548 billion being invested in battery capacity by 2050 – two-thirds of that at the grid level and one-third installed behind-the-meter by households and businesses,” predicts Seb Henbest, head of Europe, the Middle East and Africa for BNEF and lead author of NEO 2018. “The arrival of cheap battery storage will mean that it becomes increasingly possible to finesse the delivery of electricity from wind and solar so that these technologies can help meet demand even when the wind isn’t blowing and the sun isn’t shining. The result will be renewables eating up more and more of the existing market for coal, gas and nuclear.”

NEO 2018 sees $11.5 trillion being invested globally in new power generation capacity between 2018 and 2050. Of that, BNEF says $8.4 trillion will go to wind and solar and a further $1.5 trillion to other zero-carbon technologies, such as hydro and nuclear.

Massachusetts Officially Green-Lights SMART Solar Initiative – Solar Industry

“Massachusetts is a national leader in solar energy with over 2,200 MW of solar installed across all 351 cities and towns of the commonwealth, and the SMART program will allow Massachusetts to expand its leadership by significantly increasing solar capacity while lowering costs for ratepayers,” says Baker. “In addition to the benefits to ratepayers and the commonwealth’s energy portfolio, the SMART program will be the first in the nation to offer incentives to solar projects that are paired with storage to capture the benefits of solar regardless of time of day or weather conditions.”

The SMART program, issued through DOER regulations in August 2017, provides compensation for all new solar projects under 5 MW in size in an investor-owned utility’s service territory. The program differentiates specific compensation in terms of size and type of solar installations and, for the first time in the country, according to the DPU, provides a specific incentive to pair new solar projects with storage.

New D.C. renewable energy goal – 100% renewable adoption by 2032

New D.C. renewable energy goal – 100% renewable adoption by 2032

Earlier this week, the D.C. council met in hearing room 500 at the Wilson Building to consider major climate legislations, and came up with an aggressive plan to cut carbon emissions by committing to total clean energy in as little as 15 years.

If the proposed legislation should pass, it would require the District to move up its current renewable standards of 50% by 2032 to 100%. This new legislation, which also includes other targets, was proposed by five D.C. Council members. At the hearing, 87 people reportedly signed up to testify and most, if not all, supported at least part of the D.C. renewable energy legislation, reported WAMU.

The new D.C. renewable energy legislation focuses on four major points.
In addition to generating energy from only renewables by 2032, the new legislation would also limit the area where green energy is produced, with the aim of encouraging local wind and solar farms to meet clean energy demand. Renewable power would also be required to be purchased on 10-year contracts. Supporters of the legislation say that this would assist in the stabilization of the clean energy market.

Chemical 1080 Dumped In New Zealand Water Supplies Amid Litigation

The Hunua Ranges account for just under 70% of the local water supply for Aukland. There are four sizeable reservoirs that officials claim will be secured and remain unexposed from the 1080 dump. They also claim that the water will be monitored extensively following the dumps.

But Grey counters the official claims of strategic competence, saying that much of the 1080 will run down streams.

“The whole catchment where the rain lands on the ground and runs down into streams and into the reservoir is going to be covered by 45 tonnes of 1080 poison, which is a deadly poison.” She says.

What Is Chemical 1080?
Chemical 1080 is scientifically known as sodium fluoroacetate. 1080 is toxic to insects and mammals alike. The number “1080” is sodium fluoroacetate’s catalog number. It is commonly referred to as “1080” as a simpler reference.

Anti-Media Officially Shut Down by Facebook and Twitter

Two of the most high-profile pages which were shut down have probably been seen at some point by any political dissident who uses Facebook; the Free Thought Project, which had 3.1 million followers, and Anti-Media, which had 2.1 million. I’ve found useful information on both sites before, and despite disagreeing with them ideologically in some areas have found them both vastly more legitimate than anything you’ll find on Google News.

Holy shit. The Anti-Media’s Page was just removed from Twitter. So Twitter and Facebook are coordinating this.

I know this literally just happened because they RT’ed me an hour ago. pic.twitter.com/RFi280YERD

— Ford Fischer (@FordFischer) October 11, 2018

As if that wasn’t creepy enough, some of the accounts purged by Facebook appear to be getting censored on Twitter as well, bringing back memories of the August cross-platform coordinated silencing of Alex Jones. The aforementioned Anti-Media has now been suspended from Twitter just hours after tweeting about being removed from Facebook, and Patti Beers who had more than 30,000 Twitter followers has just been removed from both sites as well.

I have said it before and I will say it again: in a corporatist system, wherein there is no clear line between corporate power and government power, corporate censorship is government censorship. You can’t have a system wherein corporate lobbying and campaign finance amount to legalized bribery of elected officials, wherein massive Silicon Valley corporations form extensive ties with secretive government agencies in order to eclipse their competition, and then claim this is a matter of private corporations enforcing their own rules on their own private property. This is just what totalitarian government censorship looks like in a corporatist oligarchy.

Turkey tells U.S. it has audio of Khashoggi’s torture, murder inside Saudi consulate

The Washington Post is reporting that “U.S. and Turkish officials” are now confirming that Turkey has told the United States there is video and audio evidence of Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi’s fate inside the Saudi consulate. It is apparently gruesome.

“You can hear his voice and the voices of men speaking Arabic,” this person said. “You can hear how he was interrogated, tortured and then murdered.”
That both U.S. and Turkish sources would reveal the existence of recordings from inside the Saudi Arabian consulate may suggest anger, frustration or desperation on the part of the Turkish government to prod the U.S. into action; the claim immediately reveals that the nation had an ability to capture such audio and video, presumably a high-level state secret. It also clarifies how the Turkish government was able to so quickly pin blame on Saudi Arabia for Khashoggi’s murder.

Washington Supreme Court rules ‘arbitrary and racially biased’ death penalty unconstitutional

In a unanimous decision Thursday, the Washington state Supreme Court ruled the state’s death penalty unconstitutional because it “is administered in an arbitrary and racially biased manner” in the words of Chief Justice Mary Fairhurst, who wrote the court’s opinion. The eight inmates on death row in Washington will have their sentences converted to life imprisonment. The decision adds the Evergreen State to the roster of 19 other states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico that have no capital punishment.

Democratic Gov. Jay Inslee, who imposed a moratorium on the death penalty in 2014 on the same grounds as the court ruled, said of the decision:

“Today’s decision by the state Supreme Court thankfully ends the death penalty in Washington. The court makes it perfectly clear that capital punishment in our state has been imposed in an ‘arbitrary and racially biased manner,’ is ‘unequally applied’ and serves no criminal justice goal. This is a hugely important moment in our pursuit for equal and fair application of justice.”

via Daily Kos Washington Supreme Court rules ‘arbitrary and racially biased’ death penalty unconstitutional

The US is way behind many other countries in terms of advancing true democracy, human rights, and dignity. When will people wake up to this fact and ‘catch up’ to the rest of the world? The death penalty makes no sense at all, not even logically.

If killing someone is a sin, then why murder someone who is guilty of murdering someone? Making a law that legalizes murder does not excuse the murder in any way, shape or form on a spiritual level.

It is a well known fact that some people convicted of murder are not guilty of anything more than racism, bigotry, or via a prosecutor trying to advance their career and look ‘tough’. Why murder innocent people on death row?

Here’s the money passage from the first complaint, filed by the Democratic Coalition:

Kavanaugh violated Canons 1 and 2 of Code of Judicial Conduct by committing crimes of dishonesty while he was a federal judge, by obtaining confirmation of his appointment as a federal judge by false and perjurious testimony, by concealing and covering up his criminal actions and by obstructing justice. He is unfit to serve as a judge by reason of his corrupt, unscrupulous, dishonest and criminal conduct.

The Tragedy of Jamal Khashoggi – POLITICO Magazine

All that now may change if it is proven beyond reasonable doubt that Khashoggi was killed while visiting the Saudi Consulate on October 3 or that senior policymakers in Riyadh either ordered or were aware of the plan to target him. Circumstantial evidence, and the fact that Khashoggi remains missing a week after he was last seen alive entering the consulate, has accumulated to the point where the burden of proof falls on the Saudis to show that Khashoggi left the consulate unscathed and of his own accord. This the Saudis have been unable to do, on the flimsy pretext that the surveillance system at the consulate was live-stream only and did not record actual footage. A drip-drip of other tidbits of detail, such as the suggestion that Khashoggi was asked to return to the consulate three days after his initial appointment to complete paperwork needed for his forthcoming marriage to a Turkish woman, or that local Turkish staff reportedly were told not to go into work the day of his disappearance, and the discovery that a team of 15 Saudi security personnel flew into Istanbul and were at the consulate during Khashoggi’s visit, have added to the crescendo of accusations that the Saudis have been unable to explain away or offer even a plausible alternative course of events.

If the Saudis indeed killed Khashoggi, and thought they could get away with it, they have made a grave miscalculation. Not only was he a contributing writer for the influential Washington Post op-ed page — which has been thundering in its demands for accountability — but Khashoggi was well-known on Capitol Hill as a leading Saudi reformer. Members of Congress, including prominent Republicans such as Foreign Affairs chairman Bob Corker of Tennessee and Trump-whisperer Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, have expressed outrage at Saudi Arabia’s behavior and threatened to invoke sanctions under the Global Magnitsky Act, a bill that allows the executive branch to impose targeted sanctions and visa bans on individuals worldwide responsible for human rights violations.

MBS’s crackdown goes well beyond Khashoggi, however. Over the past year, the authorities in Saudi Arabia have arrested dozens, if not hundreds, of writers, journalists, clerics and, most recently, women’s rights advocates, whose arrest in May and June sparked international criticism but little else. The furious Saudi response to comments by the Canadian foreign minister served notice that Saudi Arabia under MBS was not prepared to tolerate external criticism of its domestic affairs, and the descriptions of many of the political detainees as ‘agents of embassies’ and ‘traitors’ in Saudi state-linked media left foreign diplomats shaken by the vehemence of the authorities’ reaction.

As he’s ramped up his rally schedule ahead of the midterms, viewership numbers for the raucous prime-time events have been roughly similar to — sometimes dipping below — Fox News’ regular programming, and the network has recently stopped airing most evening events in full.

During three Trump rallies last week, Fox News showed clips and highlights from his speeches but stuck largely with its normal weekday prime-time programming. On Saturday, when “Fox Report Weekend” and “Justice with Judge Jeanine” would ordinarily air, the network showed Trump’s speech from Topeka, Kan., in full. But on Tuesday, a rally in Council Bluffs, Iowa, was particularly hard to find — it was not aired live on any major network, and even C-SPAN cut away for other news. And on Wednesday night, as Trump took the stage in Erie, Pa., at 7 p.m., Fox News stuck with its coverage of Hurricane Michael.

This is the next step in the USA, as Trump declares that the media is the ‘enemy of the people’. Once enough people accept this ‘alternative fact’ it becomes easy to justify getting rid of any pesky investigative journalists.

The solution to any problem is never violence or killing. It only makes the darkness which is supported by hate and fear, worse and deeper.

He argues that most people in fully democratic Germany in the early 1930’s didn’t think that by decade’s end they’d be a fully fascist country, and goes further to say that perhaps history will look back on the 2016 American election in the same way. Is he correct? You be the judge.

From the Fullness of My Heart, You Are My Beloved | Heavenletters

We are bound by an infinite alliance of Oneness. We have a voluntary tie of true love, and that’s all there is to it in order to bask in Our mutual love forevermore. We form a Golden Ring of Love that is incapable of the illusion of coming apart. Our love is Infinite and made in Heaven where We wish to stay and are accorded such blessings forever and anon. We are only Oneness, and Oneness is the whole Golden Story. Better than marked in stone, We are marked in the Gold of Our love basking on the beach.

There never was an inkling of anything else but the wreath of Our love to equal itself.

Our love isn’t made of papier-mâché. There is no stronger bond than the love We speak of, which is grand far beyond the peak of romantic love. Romantic love is not commonly-known as forever, perhaps no more lasting than here today and gone tomorrow.

All the same, all the good you can dream of to think exists as close as your beating heart. It exists in the offing right now. Make no mistake. All that you are meant to have exists right at hand at this very moment in Our Heart of Oneness. Expand your bounds. Life is this simple and straightforward. Not for one moment are you to complicate and thus tighten your imagined boundaries.

Forget Spirituality; The Art of Being Human – Karma Yoga Daily

Spiritual bypassing happens when people can’t be real with each other or themselves. When they can’t be authentic. It’s an escape from the self and an escape from being raw. Pretending is easier than facing the truth; that the person who stares back at you in the mirror is a human being like everyone else.

Perhaps for our real “spiritual life” to begin, we must first ask the question,”Who am I?” “Where have I come from? What is my path of arrival? What will be the dock of my departure?”

Maybe we need to just remove this “spiritual” concept from our vernacular and identify in a different way. The old religions seem unable to hold people to their narrow worldview. So the new age has taken people hostage and these people are the new “spiritual.” Let’s just be human.

Being human is more than enough for me!

As Catholic Church Ignores its Pedophilia Scandals, Bishop Warns You that Reiki Energy Healing is Satanic – Karma Yoga Daily

This type of dramatic virtue-signaling by an organization known for pedophilia is nothing new. In 2017, the Vatican’s chief exorcist warned the world that yoga also causes demonic possession and is therefore Satanic. The Catholic church has long been at odds with any mystery that it does not directly control, and their propaganda line is always the same: If we don’t like it, it’s Satan.

READ: RETIRED BISHOP EXPLAINS WHY THE CHURCH INVENTED HELL
Interesting. Especially when you consider how mind control works in a cult. A leader sets the thought boundaries for the flock, and any deviance from that is heresy, punishable by eternal damnation of some form or another. Retired Episcopal bishop John Shelby Spong explained how this concept works when he spoke out publicly, saying that hell is a construct of the church used to control people.

“I don’t think Hell exists. I happen to believe in life after death, but I don’t think it’s got a thing to do with reward and punishment. Religion is always in the control business, and that’s something people don’t really understand. It’s in a guilt-producing control business. And if you have Heaven as a place where you’re rewarded for your goodness, and Hell is a place where you’re punished for your evil, then you sort of have control of the population. And so they create this fiery place which has quite literally scared the Hell out of a lot of people, throughout Christian history. And it’s part of a control tactic.” [Source]

Here’s a thought for the Catholic church: Pedophilia is literally the most Satanic thing on the planet. So, until the church is able to exorcise the evil from within, I think I’ll keep practicing yoga and healing myself with Reiki, while keeping my children miles and miles away from the Catholic church and all of the creepy pedophile sexual predators it employs and protects.

United States, A Banana Republic | Nel’s New Day

America First And Greatest At The Witty Liberal

United States, A Banana Republic | Nel’s New Day

“Banana Republic” is a term to describe governments with countries that suffer from lack of democracy and corruption. How the United States fits the description of a “banana republic”:

An extremely stratified social class with a large impoverished working class and an ultra-rich ruling-class plutocracy with a lack of a middle class and lack of upward mobility: The U.S. has had the highest income inequality and lowest upward mobility of any country in the developed world for several years, and it keeps worsening.

Government’s corrupt connection with big business: As in fascist countries, U.S. conservative politicians have supported the merger of state and corporate power by removing regulations, giving corporations billions of dollars in tax cuts and subsidies, and putting banks and corporations above the law. The person occupying the Oval Office is profiting with millions—possibly trillions—from domestic groups and foreign government encouraged to use his businesses despite his constitutional violation of the Emoluments Clause.

A male business, political, and military elite controlling the nation: In a circular pattern, politicians take money from business for campaigns in exchange for subserviency, and conservative politicians vote for increased military expenses to keep money flowing into their states. Lack of regulations moves wealth offshore while workers suffer. Conservative politicians put white conservative males into control on the courts, protecting only white males and big business and permitting illegal tax evasion. All new DDT judicial nominees are male, recognizing that “we the ruling males” are in charge instead of the constitutional “we the people.” Less than one-third of the U.S. population is white male, but they still control the nation.

Police corruption and expanding police state: The frequent pattern of using military equipment for police actions is like military actions in Iraq, and law enforcement increasingly kill people in “accidents” or badly orchestrated sting operations. Laws since 9/11 permit warrantless wiretapping and other tactics common in dictatorships.

Highest incarceration rate in the world: The 716 prisoners per 100,000 residents in the U.S. far exceed the 114 in Canada, the 79 in German, and even the 162 in Saudi Arabia. Privatized prisons have greatly increased the number of prisoners because the government gets kickbacks from these businesses for their campaigns that keep them the ruling party.

Lack of access to healthcare: Despite the Affordable Care Act, Dictator Donald Trump (DDT) created a path to health insurance that doesn’t provide for pre-existing conditions, hospitalizations, maternal care, and other health needs by conning them into believing that they save money. DDT’s newest plan is like a person paying less for a car that doesn’t run. People in the U.S. pay more than most developed countries for healthcare expenses and are reduced to medical bankruptcies but are convinced that universal health care is evil.

Much shorter life expectancy in poor than wealthy: In one West Virginia county, life expectancy for males is 63.9 years compared to 81.6 years, 17.7 years higher, in affluent Fairfax County (VA)—a difference of 27 percent. Bangladesh life expectancy is higher than McDowell County (WV). U.S. women’s life expectancy was #41 in 2010.

Hunger and malnutrition: Banana republics are associated with food insecurity, but the need for food stamps in the U.S. has increased from one in 50 during the 1970s to one in eight with 50 million people, including 12 million children, suffering from food insecurity.

High infant mortality: Fifty-seven countries have a smaller infant mortality rate than the U.S. In first-day death rate, babies dying the day that they are born, the U.S. has the highest rate in the industrialized world, twice as many as in the European Union.

Opinion: The Death of (the Old) Kanye – BROTHA WOLF

But sometime within the last few years or so, we saw that Kanye dying. He was drifting off to sleep, no longer woke. In its place, we have a doppelganger, a clone programmed with alt-right logic, a head slightly deformed to have a growth in the shape of a red “Make America Great Again” hat, believing that “slavery was a choice” and wanted to abort amend the 13th Amendment and a bizarre “brotherly” and now “fatherly” love for the hater of common decency and intelligence Donald Trump.

We saw signs of Kanye’s mind coming apart in interviews and Tweets. We saw how his colossal ego was as fragile as wet tissue paper. We saw him rant in circles for minutes on in. We watched as a pro-black artist was replaced with a clone with the same body but is mentally broken and willfully ignorant.

Arguably, we’ve seen the deterioration of Kanye’s gift and mental stability in his recent albums. His most recent ones, including his latest Ye, left mixed reviews. Some listeners were puzzled and/or disappointed. They felt that Kanye didn’t deliver, especially an explanation into his pro-Trump madness. They considered it another further decline in his talent as they believed was the case in his previous unfinished album The Life of Pablo. Now with the album he’s currently working on Yandhi pushed back until November, this gives more impression that something is definitely off about him musically. And if that album ends up being worse than Ye, it will likely be curtains for his rap career.

The Dow plummets for a second straight day as Nasdaq flirts with correction

Wall Street had another rough day on Thursday, with the tech-heavy Nasdaq index dipping into correction territory and the Dow Jones closing 548 points down after another day of market convulsions.

Following a rocky morning of premarket trading, the major exchanges had pared their losses by midday and looked set to regain their footing. However, by mid-afternoon, the sell-off had intensified: All 11 sectors of the S&P were trading lower, the Dow had plunged by 699 points, and the CBOE Volatility Index, Wall Street’s “fear gauge,” hit its highest level since February.

The meeting also highlights how seriously Trump takes issues that his base doesn’t really care about.
Rather than invite real policy experts, say on education or criminal justice, Trump brought before the cameras two famous black men who like him.
The result was about what one would expect — a hard-to-parse, bizarre Oval Office moment with very little substance fueled by West’s desperate need for attention and Trump’s need for open adoration by famous people.

Chief Justice Roberts opens a new Ethics Investigation of Brett Kavanaugh

Chief Justice Roberts opens a new Ethics Investigation of Brett Kavanaugh

It’s possible the complaints will never be investigated if the lower-court judges determine they have no jurisdiction over a Supreme Court justice under the judiciary’s ethics rules. The judges may be forced to conclude “that intervening events have rendered the allegations moot or make remedial action impossible,” said Arthur Hellman, an ethics professor at the University of Pittsburgh.

Another ethicist, Stephen Gillers of New York University, disagreed that the complaints are moot. Kavanaugh remains a federal judge and the complaints “allege misconduct that occurred while Kavanaugh was on the D.C. Circuit and subject to the Code of Conduct for U.S. Judges. Any violation of the Code does not disappear because he is now on another federal court,” Gillers said in an email.

What Did Trump Say to Anthony Kennedy After the Swearing In That Stopped Him Dead in His Tracks?

Many of us at this site assume that there was some sort of quid pro quo reached when Justice Anthony Kennedy bartered his SCOTUS seat away to Trump. Whatever deal was allegedly struck, it now appears that it is likely that something has gone awry between quid and quo, as evidenced by this snippet of video taken after the swearing in of Kavanaugh.

Lies are how America justifies war | Truth and Shadows

Lies are how America justifies war | Truth and Shadows

The U.S. has been at war for 224 out of 242 years since the Declaration of Independence was signed in 1776, an astounding 93 per cent of the time. And since World War 2 in particular, every instance of American aggression – by bombing, covert subversion, or invasion – has been justified to the public using a lie or other form of deception.

Every last one.

The U.S. was the first country ever to use atomic weapons on civilian targets, which they did against Japan in 1945. This was accompanied by a massive propaganda campaign to justify this unconscionable act. President Harry Truman followed this by signing the National Security Act, which created the CIA and gave birth to what many today refer to as the Deep State.

Between 1947 and 1997, the CIA intervened in no fewer than 31 countries, overthrowing governments, assassinating leaders, and installing military dictatorships (usually right wing) friendly to American corporations. To keep the public unaware of this criminal behavior the agency launched Operation Mockingbird, a program designed to recruit and install journalists in major media outlets. The CIA’s goal was to insure that its crimes would be shielded from public scrutiny. Mockingbird served the CIA well then, and it continues to do so today.

Here’s Why the Dow Jones Industrial Average Is Falling This Week

Here’s Why the Dow Jones Industrial Average Is Falling This Week

When interest rates increase, borrowing costs increase too. This pinches the bottom line of companies that need to borrow in order to finance growth.

As a result, higher interest rates can restrict economic growth.

And that’s bad for investor returns in much the same way slowing jobs growth is.

via Money Morning Here’s Why the Dow Jones Industrial Average Is Falling This Week

Remember that there is a HUGE injection of capital into the stock market via the Trump tax bill, so the fact that stocks are dropping in price despite this injection of hundreds of BILLIONS is very worrying.

Has the artificial stimulus of repatriated profits hidden overseas finally come to an end?

Will Trump do something to stimulate the economy right before the election and not allow it to drop?

This “Uncooked” Data Proves It: Another Housing Crash Is Coming

As mortgage rates rise, fewer buyers will be able to afford to buy at current listing prices. Sales volume will drop sharply, just as it did between 2005 and 2007.

Just as from 2006 to 2008, prices probably won’t break until the year after sales begin to collapse; home sellers can be stubborn about that.

But once a few start to feel the pressure, the dam will break, the number of listings will balloon, and prices will start coming down.

So much for the housing market. But the crisis will become “real” to the financial system, and the markets, when mortgage collateral value disappears.

Ford Prepares for Layoffs After Tariffs Take $1B Bite, Report Says | Fortune

Ford is having a bad year in 2018. Its stock is down 29%, and the tariffs imposed by President Trump have reportedly cost the company $1 billion, as the company is in the midst of a reorganization. Now, the company is announcing layoffs.

Jim Hackett, Ford’s CEO, is working to engineer a $25.5 billion restructuring of the automaker, hoping to cut costs and remain competitive, the Wall Street Journal reports. But auto sales are down, and one reason is the trade tariffs that Trump has imposed on metals and other goods. According to Bloomberg, Hackett has said they have already cost the company $1 billion in profit and could do “more damage” if the disputes aren’t resolved quickly.

Ford, the No. 2 U.S. automaker by sales, is making aggressive job cuts as part of that reorganization, NBC News reported. While the company hasn’t said how many jobs will be lost, a report from Morgan Stanley estimates “a global headcount reduction of approximately 12 percent,” or 24,000 of Ford’s 202,000 workers worldwide.”

Brett Kavanaugh Sided With A Union-Busting Employer After It Violated Workers’ Rights | HuffPost

When a New York manufacturer created a new, spinoff company to avoid bargaining with unionized workers, federal regulators and a panel of appellate judges said the manufacturer broke the law and violated its employees’ rights.

There was, however, one judge who dissented in the appeals decision and sided with the employer: Brett Kavanaugh, President Donald Trump’s nominee to replace Justice Anthony Kennedy on the Supreme Court.

The decision fits a pattern of Kavanaugh’s in which the conservative judge has ruled in favor of corporations over workers, several times as the lone dissenter. If confirmed, the 53-year-old could potentially push the Supreme Court further to the right on labor and employment issues as unions and worker groups are already facing major judicial setbacks.

Deadly ‘Hot Towers’ Spotted Inside Hurricane Michael Eyewall

Hot towers are strong indicators that a tropical cyclone is growing. In fact, many scientists feel that hot towers are the indication of intense, rapid growth.

They are typically associated with extreme amounts of lightning.

A 2004 paper written by NASA researchers and published in the American Geophysical Union journal Geophysical Research Letters explained that a tropical cyclone with at least one hot tower is twice as likely to experience rapid intensification as opposed to one without a hot tower.

Beloved, regardless of the angle you may see from at one time or another, We, you and I, are in perfect harmony. We, as One, are the best of friends. I am never out of sorts. You may be in a desolate mood. I do not have moods. I am not in a good mood one day or in a rough mood another. I love always. I love you always.

No matter how painful your view of life may be at any moment, no matter how your apple cart may be upturned, no matter how stunned you are, no matter how darkly you may see your present path, no matter how much you fear what you are going through, the sun will shine again. I don’t say that losing a loved one or other circumstances are nothing at all. Oh yes, life can hit you hard.

Oh, yes, you may see huge bumps, and you wonder where My good heartedness has gone. My heart is never gone. Life may not seem golden to you from one day to the next. Nevertheless, My heart holds you high. I am not your detractor. I am for you 100%. When you feel you are on a muddy path, know the muddy path will dry soon.

When you may feel at the bottom of a pit, you and I are not at loggerheads. We are One and not two. No exceptions. This is the God’s Honest Truth.
