Percentage Of Christians By Country List; Easter 2024 in the Holy Land: a Holiday Marked by Palestinian Christian Sorrow, Holy Fire Miracle

Which countries have the largest and smallest percentage of Christians?

How many people, much less Christians understand or know that Israel has one of the lowest percentages of Christians living in it, compared to all other countries in the world?

Source and more countries at; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christianity_by_country

Why is Palestine not even listed in the Wikipedia list above, despite being a country, and has a percentage of Christians STILL living in it, despite being oppressed, discriminated against, and persecuted in all kinds of ways. Lets prove that Christian Palestinian do live and worship in Palestine…

Easter 2024 in the Holy Land: a holiday marked by Palestinian Christian sorrow

Traditionally, Palestinian families and friends exchange visits, offering coffee, tea and a cookie stuffed with dates called “maamoul,” which is made only at Easter. A favorite tradition, especially for children, is taking a colorfully dyed hard-boiled egg in one hand and cracking it against an egg held by a friend. The breaking of the egg symbolizes the rise of Jesus from the tomb, the end of sorrow and the ultimate defeat of death itself and purification of human sins.

For Orthodox Christians, one of the most sacred rites of the year is the Holy Fire. On the day before Orthodox Easter, thousands of pilgrims and local Christian Palestinians of all denominations gather in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Greek and Armenian patriarchs enter the enclosure of the tomb in which Jesus was said to have been buried and pray inside. Those inside have reported that a blue light rises from the stone where Jesus lay, and forms into a flame. The patriarch lights candles from the flame, passing the fire from candle to candle among the thousands assembled in the church.

That same day, delegations representing Eastern Orthodox countries carry the flame in lanterns to their home countries via chartered planes to be presented in cathedrals in time for the Easter service. Palestinians also carry the flame using lanterns to homes and churches in the West Bank.

Christians accounted for about 10% of the population in 1920 but constitute just 1% to 2.5% of Palestinians in the West Bank as of 2024, because of emigration. Christians in the West Bank belong to multiple denominations, including Greek Orthodox, Catholic and various Protestant denominations.

MIRACLE OF HOLY FIRE VERSES AND EXPLANATION

Why have most Christians never even heard of the Holy Fire despite 100 verses in the Bible? Why have very few Christians heard or experienced the annual miracle and this very unique Christian church that offers evidence of this Holy Fire? Not knowing about this miracle of Holy Fire is a huge travesty.

Matthew 3:11 “I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

Hebrews 12:29 For our God is a consuming fire.

Acts 2:1-47  When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven.

John 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.

The miracle of Holy Fire originates in the miracle of Jesus Christ, who rose from the dead, who left the fire of the Holy Spirit with his believers, who forgave all sins, and much more..

The Miracle of Holy Fire (or Holy Light) is the most important ritual in Christianity and it happens year after year in the Tomb of Christ, inside the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem.

It is an annual celebration of Christ’s victory over death and Jesus himself participates.

@chrysostomosvassili2293 My Grandmother (God Rest Her Soul) with my Aunty and a group of friends was present at the Orthodox Easter many years ago in Israel, she explained that the Church was so crowded at the Eve of the Orthodox Greek Easter Sunday, that she could not enter the Church, she was one of many thousands who had to worship outside the Edicule Church, waiting for the Holy light, she said that what she and many thousands of witnesses like her witnessed that day stayed with her all her remaining life.

My Grandmother and and my Aunty said that whilst in wait, a blue light came from the Church and went into the outer area, where this blue light lit the sky and thousands of candles held by thousands of worshippers standing outside the Church, including her candles held by my Grandmother, Aunt and their friends, which they brought with them from the UK to Israel for this event, spontaneously lit by the blue Holy light, which was followed by a warm uplifting spiritual feeling of what she described as having Christ’s presence, from which many of the Israeli solders and police who were present for crowed control fell to their knees and others cried, they were all very moved by what they witnessed and probably from whatever they individually had experienced or felt at that given moment.

Why does this only happen at the Orthodox Easter and has been happening for over 1,200 years, without fail, and why has it never happened at any other Easter of any other Christian Denominations?

I am genuinely curious to know, after all, a Christian is a Christian, no matter his or her denomination. I would like to add that I have seen other videos attempting to imply that this is all a hoax and that the Orthodox priest smuggles in some method to ignite the candle or some chemical such as white phosphorus is used which self ignites the candles, which is unstable and cannot be applied to a timer to light all candles at same time of resurrection and most people attending have purchased their candles from a variety of different places, and many bringing the candles with them from their home countries/overseas; all seems very unlikely, however, this has been going on for 1200 years without fail, where such knowledge of self igniting chemicals will not have existed and if they did they will have been applied into war to protect the city from attacks by other religious groups, which never happened and obviously gas lighters will not have existed then to have been hidden to ignite the candle, it will have required an open flame, which could not be hidden, so these types of debunking attempts, I feel have no logical merit or grounds and often applied by those who are very insecure about their own religion or religious views, moreover, how can anyone explain this holy blue light that leaves from the doors of the Church, lights up the night sky with its blue light and ignites the candles of hundreds and thousands of believers who simply lift their candles towards the sky where this blue light brightens the sky and their candles are miraculously lit?

There are those who try to argue that the Church sends out a charge of manufactured electricity into the sky which ignites the candles of the believers, which I find absurd, firstly no such technology actually exists today to create such a reaction and if it did it will electrocute and kill all before lighting any candles and secondly no electricity existed 1200 years ago.

I am left with no doubt that this is the Holy Light of Christ Resurrection, which leads me back to my original question of why does this only occur within the Orthodox Christian religion and not in any other Christian denominations? in my eyes, mind and heart, a Christian is a Christian, no matter their denomination.

So why is this not present in other Christian denominations, is it because the Orthodox Christian Church celebration of Easter is the correct date and the rest of the Christian denominations apply a a wrong date? or is it due to the secret Orthodox Easter Prayer only known by the Orthodox Patriarch that creates this holy light, or is it because the Orthodox Christians have a belief and faith in the appearance of this Holy light which emanates from such faith and belief?, or is it because the faithful ask God for this holy light and God provides?

In respect to this holy fire from the lit candles does not burn, my Grandmother saw that some people would hold the fire on to their skin and plastic bags and paper and it simply would not burn anything the flame came into contact with and others who attempted the same, it actually did burn them, and anything they put to the candle flame it burnt, she said that she put the flame upon her skin and felt nothing, I would argue that this could be a psychosomatic reaction where the human mind can block out pain, but that did not explain how a normal plastic shopping bag would not burn or her Kleenex tissue paper in her bag would not ignite or any other items she had with her would simply not burn, YET, when the same candle flame was passed to her friend who was standing next to my grandmother, it burnt her friends hand, her friend asked my grandmother to gave her the same tissue paper my grandmother tried to burn, and in her friends hands, the tissue paper immediately burnt, the candle was passed back and forth between them where nothing my grandmother had would burn and anything her friend had would burn.

The next day when they asked a priest to explain this, the priest said that the flame cannot burn those who are truly faithful, that was the only explanation given to her. Again, I fail to understand how this is possible, yet it is, it happened, not only to my grandmother and her friend but to many others who were doing the same and experienced the same. So whether we believe this or not, it happened and continues to happen and has been happening for 1200 years, so, not believing it does not stop it from happening.

Orthodox Christian Arabs, Russians, Serbians, Romanians, Armenians, Coptic’s, Ukrainians, Egyptians, Greeks, and other denominations such as Roman Catholics and protestant’s who were present to witness the Orthodox Easter, all experienced the same and all moved to tears and Christian unity. My family members have been 2-4 times and each time has been a different experience for them.

As my late Grandmother said, there are many thousands of people who attend, separating the curious from the serious believers is very difficult and borders upon becoming a mockery of the Holy Church and our faith in Christianity, with many forgetting that this is a Holy celebration, not a circus show for those who want to discredit Christianity or for those who need to witness and see to convince themselves to believe, and my Grandmother (God rest her soul) as usual, was right, I happen to agree her. Is this all based upon bringing about false beliefs or false prophets?

im not sure if I buy into that theory, a holy blue light emanates from Christ tomb and from there it spreads to light other peoples candles, a holy flame that burns some and others does not burn, well, I do not see that as false prophet or promoting false beliefs, because all is shown to emanate from one source, in this case Christ Resurrections, so I do not think false prophets or any form of diversion from Christian belief is being diverted or perverted here, anymore than witnessing tears flowing from Christ or Virgin Mary statues and other miraculous events that take place in the Christian world, which attracts believers, if anything, it reinforces Christian belief and in others it opens up debates, ether way, Christ is on everyone’s thoughts and lips.

The fact is that those that do not believe, no amount of explanation will change their minds, and for those who do believe, no explanation is necessary, so I have to conclude by saying, if these things are miracles then we are all truly blessed, if they are not then it is irrelevant, whether the blue holy light is real or not or whether the holy flame does not burn those who’s faith is true; what is important to me is that real faith is based just on faith, to truly believe without requiring to see any evidence of the existence of God, that is true faith, and if one can achieve that and be content with that, without needing to see anything that will convince them of their faith, then that person is still truly blessed.”

STARVATION, APARTHEID, ETHNIC CLEANSING, AND GENOCIDE OF CHRISTIAN PALESTINIANS?

What is left of Palestine has been and still is being erased, slowly but methodically. Currently, what is left of the Gaza region is being systemically bombed out of existence. Could this be called genocide or ethnic cleansing? Palestine is no longer listed in Wikipedia in the list above, but Israel is… Need more proof?

Jesus was Jewish. Why Are Jews Against Everything That Christ Stood For?

Isn’t it ironic that in the very land that Jesus was killed, and rose from the dead, that this country specifically is the one that has LEAST number of CHRISTIANS living in it, among all countries in the world and is the one country on the planet guilty of the most human rights violations, international treaty violations, nuclear weapons treaty violations, weapons of mass destruction treaty violations, and violations of UN resolutions?

Why are so few Jews also Christian, when Jesus was Jewish and came for them specifically?

IF JESUS CAME BACK TODAY, WHAT WOULD HE DO AROUND THE PALESTINE ISSUE?

Jesus as God and Messiah was a peace maker, forgiver, and mercy granter. He opposed all war, killing, murder, torture, and violence.

Isn’t it ironic that in the sacred land where Jesus was born, died and raised from the dead, and a land where the Holy Fire of Christ appears miraculously every year since the killing of Christ, is one of the most violent, most wracked by apartheid, genocide, war, murder, death and suffering in the entire world?

WHAT DID CHRIST TEACH AND DO BY EXAMPLE? WHAT HAPPENED TO FORGIVENESS, LOVE AND HUMILITY IN ISRAEL? WHO KILLED CHRIST AND WHY?

EASTER OR RESURRECTION SUNDAY

Wikipedia; “Easter,[nb 1] also called Pascha[nb 2] (AramaicGreekLatin) or Resurrection Sunday,[nb 3] is a Christian festival and cultural holiday commemorating the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, described in the New Testament as having occurred on the third day of his burial following his crucifixion by the Romans at Calvary c. 30 AD.[10][11] It is the culmination of the Passion of Jesus Christ, preceded by Lent (or Great Lent), a 40-day period of fastingprayer, and penance.

Easter-observing Christians commonly refer to the week before Easter as Holy Week, which in Western Christianity begins on Palm Sunday (marking the entrance of Jesus in Jerusalem), includes Spy Wednesday (on which the betrayal of Jesus is mourned),[12] and contains the days of the Easter Triduum including Maundy Thursday, commemorating the Maundy and Last Supper,[13][14] as well as Good Friday, commemorating the crucifixion and death of Jesus.[15] In Eastern Christianity, the same days and events are commemorated with the names of days all starting with “Holy” or “Holy and Great”; and Easter itself might be called “Great and Holy Pascha”, “Easter Sunday”, “Pascha” or “Sunday of Pascha”. In Western Christianity, Eastertide, or the Easter Season, begins on Easter Sunday and lasts seven weeks, ending with the coming of the 50th day, Pentecost Sunday. In Eastern Christianity, the Paschal season ends with Pentecost as well, but the leave-taking of the Great Feast of Pascha is on the 39th day, the day before the Feast of the Ascension.

Easter and its related holidays are moveable feasts, not falling on a fixed date; its date is computed based on a lunisolar calendar (solar year plus Moon phase) similar to the Hebrew calendar. The First Council of Nicaea (325) established only two rules, namely independence from the Hebrew calendar and worldwide uniformity. No details for the computation were specified; these were worked out in practice, a process that took centuries and generated a number of controversies. It has come to be the first Sunday after the ecclesiastical full moon that occurs on or soonest after 21 March.[16] Even if calculated on the basis of the Gregorian calendar, the date of that full moon sometimes differs from that of the astronomical first full moon after the March equinox.[17]

The English term is derived from the Saxon spring festival Ēostre;[18] Easter is linked to the Jewish Passover by its name (Hebrew: פֶּסַח pesachAramaic: פָּסחָא pascha are the basis of the term Pascha), by its origin (according to the synoptic Gospels, both the crucifixion and the resurrection took place during the week of Passover)[19][20] and by much of its symbolism, as well as by its position in the calendar. In most European languages, both the Christian Easter and the Jewish Passover are called by the same name; and in the older English versions of the Bible, as well, the term Easter was used to translate Passover.[21]

Easter traditions vary across the Christian world, and include sunrise services or late-night vigils, exclamations and exchanges of Paschal greetingsflowering the cross,[22] the wearing of Easter bonnets by women, clipping the church,[23] and the decoration and the communal breaking of Easter eggs (a symbol of the empty tomb).[24][25][26]

The Easter lily, a symbol of the resurrection in Western Christianity,[27][28] traditionally decorates the chancel area of churches on this day and for the rest of Eastertide.[29] Additional customs that have become associated with Easter and are observed by both Christians and some non-Christians include Easter parades, communal dancing (Eastern Europe), the Easter Bunny and egg hunting.[30][31][32][33][34]

There are also traditional Easter foods that vary by region and culture.

Easter celebrates Jesus’ supernatural resurrection from the dead, which is one of the chief tenets of the Christian faith.[44] Paul writes that, for those who trust in Jesus’s death and resurrection, “death is swallowed up in victory.” The First Epistle of Peter declares that God has given believers “a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead”. Christian theology holds that, through faith in the working of God, those who follow Jesus are spiritually resurrected with him so that they may walk in a new way of life and receive eternal salvation, and can hope to be physically resurrected to dwell with him in the Kingdom of Heaven.[45]

Easter is linked to Passover and the Exodus from Egypt recorded in the Old Testament through the Last Suppersufferings, and crucifixion of Jesus that preceded the resurrection.[40] According to the three Synoptic Gospels, Jesus gave the Passover meal a new meaning, as in the upper room during the Last Supper he prepared himself and his disciples for his death.[40]

He identified the bread and cup of wine as his body, soon to be sacrificed, and his blood, soon to be shed. The Apostle Paul states, in his First Epistle to the Corinthians, “Get rid of the old yeast that you may be a new batch without yeast—as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.”

This refers to the requirement in Jewish law that Jews eliminate all chametz, or leavening, from their homes in advance of Passover, and to the allegory of Jesus as the Paschal lamb.[46][47] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Easter

WHAT WOULD JESUS DO AND SAY IF HE CAME BACK TODAY? WHAT WOULD THE STATE OF ISRAEL AND THE PRIESTHOOD CLASS DO TO HIM IF HE SHOWED UP IN GAZA?

What would happen to Jesus Christ if he appeared inside of Gaza, and more specifically, what if he starting helping those scapegoated there? Remember that Christ spent the majority of his time with the scapegoats and rejects of his time, outside of all of the ‘normal’ and accepted religious and political groups of his day.

Zachary Sawatzky @ZachSawatz3599 What good news for us his sacrifice is. Salvation for all mankind who believe. Amen.

Which future is Jesus going to support and create?

Is Christ on the side of Fear/hatred, violence, human rights violating starvation of 2 million innocent people, and genocidal killing, or is he on the side of unconditional love, peace, forgiveness, and friendship between ‘family’ members, as all of us are descendants of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden?

Remember that we are all one human family, coming from Adam and Eve, children of God.

Matthew 28:2 There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it.

John 20:8-9 Then the disciple who had reached the tomb first also went in, and he saw and believed— for until then they still hadn’t understood the Scriptures that said Jesus must rise from the dead.

The story goes that The Apostle Peter was the first to see the Holy Fire when he came to the tomb of Christ, because he knew that he had come to life. They first wrote about it back in the 4th century, and now it is impossible to imagine the pre-Easter time without fire, which is transmitted to every corner of the world. https://newsonlineread.com/a-real-miracle-when-the-holy-fire-descends-on-catholic-or-orthodox-easter

WHAT YOU CAN DO: PRAY

A Beautiful Easter Prayer for Resurrection Sunday

I invite you to pray this prayer as we celebrate hope over discouragement, victory over defeat, and life over death through Christ this Easter:

Almighty God,
The reminder that you are Almighty is hope-filled this Easter.
So much has passed that’s beyond our control due to the pandemic.
Yet we, as believers, can rest in the knowledge that you will work all things for our good.
Scripture promises us that you are the good Potter.

We ask you to take the broken pieces of our lives and form something good,
Something to startle and amaze us—
Like you startled the women at the tomb!
The women came to the tomb,
A place of decay and death, ready to meet you.
They went away instead with good news!
